A few years ago, I worked for a large airline as a ticket and gate agent. When I would get a few days off from work I would pack a bag, hop on a plane a set off to see my family. It was such a fun time in my life, but to this day there is one thing that bothers me about traveling, it's packing. I hate it! I don't mind gathering up the clothes, but I hate trying to organize and fit all the clothes in the suitcase. I tend to over-pack and that can sometimes be an issue.
I recently headed out to North Carolina to see my family and knew the dreaded packing was inevitable. I first tried to pack everything in a carry-on, but quickly realized I need a new strategy. That's when I was asked if I'd like to try MIU Color Packing Cubes, and it couldn't have come at a better time.
MIU Color Packing Cubes were made to help organize your suitcase and come in a pack of 4. You get 3 clothing bags and a shoe bag. The clothing bags come in 3 different sizes, small, medium and large. The large bag measures 17.7x13x2.8 inches, the medium bag measures 14x10.5x2.75 inches and the small measures 11x6.7x2.8, the shoe bag measures 12.4x8x4.3 inches. They are made from polyester and have a cool mesh design on the front that lets you see what's in the bag. Each bag has two zippers and a handle on the top that makes it easy to transport from your luggage to your dresser or closet.

I decided for my week long trip, I would use my medium size suitcase and hoped that the bags would fit well and help to eliminate the dreaded clothes shift. It's suggested that you use the large bag for heavier and larger clothes like sweaters and jackets. I thought the size is perfect for pants and jeans, so that's exactly what I used it for. At first the bags didn't look very deep to me, but after closer examination, I realized I would be able to fit a lot more in the bags than I originally thought.
I was able to fit 3 pairs of jeans, a pair of sweatpants, a sweater and two shirts in the large bag. now, I am a plus size person and I thought that was a lot of clothing, just imagine how much you could fit in for someone that is smaller! I loved how easily my pants and jeans fit, and they didn't get caught in the zipper of the bag.

I wanted to see how many shirts I could fit in the large cube,
I counted 14, plus a sweater on top.
I used the medium bag for my shirts, and let me just say there is plenty of room in this bag. I fit a full weeks worth of shirts and then some in the bag and there was still room for more. I couldn't believe how much fit in there, I'm pretty sure there were at least 10 shirts in the bag and some of the shirts were heavy and long shirts. Again, my clothing never got stuck in the zippers.

It's recommended to use the small bag for things like bras or your unmentionables. While there is plenty of room in the bag for these things, I felt the bag would be better suited for my makeup and bathroom items. I loved that I was able to fit everything in the bag and still had plenty of room to add things like my toothbrush, toothpaste, hair brush and even my hair straightener. I normally dread packing my hair straightener because the lock on the side doesn't always stay shut, and I am afraid it will break. but, being able to fit it in the bag gave it extra protection.

I think my favorite piece of this whole set is the shoe bag. I really hate when you open your suitcase, only to find your shoes smashed and misshapen. With the shoe bag, I was able to fit several pairs of shoes in this bag. What's really great about the bag is that there is a divider inside to separate your pairs of shoes and keep them clean and free of being damaged. All in all, I was able to fit a pair of walking shoes, a pair of flats, and two pairs of flip flops in the shoe bag. In the future I can see how easy it would be to fit a couple of heels in the bag and keep flats in the outside pocket.

Inside the Shoe Cube, a pair of walking shoes and a pair of flats. I wear a size 10 and there was plenty of room for my shoes. My hubby put in his size 12.5 sneakers to see if they fit, and they did!
Now, the real test was fitting it all in my bag and heading out. Again, I used the medium size suitcase and was amazed at how perfectly all the bags fit in there, snugly and securely. The large, medium and shoe bag fit perfectly on the bottom of the bag, and the small case I was able to stack on top of the other bags. I really love how easy these bags make packing and how well organized my bag was.
When I arrived in Charlotte, and was able to get into my bags, I was surprised that everything was in the same place as it was before. There was no shifting around of my clothes and my shirts stayed fresh and weren't wrinkled. Something else that I really like about the packing cubes is that they have mesh on the top of the bags. That made it so easy for me to see what was in the bag or if I forgot to pack something. It really takes the guess work out of traveling and the dreaded packing.
