Steph and my mom worked at the same place for 38 years, and in those 38 years she met hundreds of people who changed her life for the better by just making her smile. One of those people was an elderly man by the name of Mr. Miller. This is my RAK story:
Mr. Miller was sitting across from Josh and me while we were eating a late breakfast one morning after church. I knew I recognized him but wasn't sure who he was until my parents joined us and my mom got a huge smile on her face and told me who he was. She couldn't stop talking about how much she loved Mr. Miller, and what a kind man he was. Mom knew he didn't have a spouse and he didn't have a lot of money so on this particular Sunday he was sitting alone eating a banana split. The fact that he was eating a banana split for his breakfast or his lunch made me so happy because I really feel like when Im old, Im going to be that old person who eats ice cream for breakfast just because I can.
Anyway, I knew Mr. Miller made my mom happy so many times that I thought I would send a little sunshine to him. So that day I decided to anonymously paid for his ice cream. He had a huge smile on his face when he left that day and I had one on mine. It always feels good to pay it forward!

Buying Mr. Millers ice cream
I don't think I'm going to wait until I'm older, I think I'm totally having breakfast for ice cream tomorrow! Okay, well maybe not tomorrow because it's so cold out, but definitely this year!
