Take The Time For You Challenge
I know many of you have children that REALLY make it hard for you to take 1 minute, let alone 10, but guess what readers, I can see you sitting at your computer right now. Correct me if Im wrong, but you're probably in comfy running around clothes/pjs (if you're not, you wish you were), your hair is up in a ponytail (or for those of us with short hair/men, its hardly styled or under a hat), and you have tired stressed out eyes. I mean, Thanksgiving has recently ended and its time for the Christmas hustle and bustle to really begin. I know... I get it. Chances are, unless Im at work, I look exactly the same.
I don't have my own kids, but I have a classroom full of them and I know how much stress the Christmas season can put on me. I can only imagine what its like to shop for them, decorate for them, cook for them, or do any of the other things you super moms and dads do. You need a break!
So here my 4 step challenge:
1. From this second until 12am Christmas morning, at least once a day, please take 10 minutes or more to do something that you want to do just because you want to do it. It can be anything!
Take a run!
Take a power nap!
Read a chapter of your favorite book!
Relax in the bath!
Heck, it can even just be going out to the garage and sitting in the car in silence for 10 minutes, I know that sounds good to you!
2. While you are taking those 10 minutes, think about nothing but you. Think about what you're thankful for, what makes you happy, what you want to do with your next 10 minutes.
3. Stick to it. Just 10 minutes every day... thats it. Just 10 minutes.
4. Thank me later because I know you'll want to.
