Wordless Wednesday: Happy Thanksgiving!

Happy Wednesday, and happy day before Thanksgiving! There's no school today, and we'll be headed out into the cold a little later on to enjoy our city's Holiday Caravan Parade. It's supposed to snow... we'll see if that actually happens. I hope you're not all going crazy with your Thanksgiving prep. I guess I have it easy- we're going to my in-law's house, so I really don't have to do much cooking- just making an easy appetizer and side dish.

I am so thankful that I'll be able to spend Thanksgiving with my husband's family, and my parents! I love that we're all able to come together for our celebration, because that means that my hubby and I can spent equal time relaxing with our families, all in one place, instead of spending our day running from one place to the next (we'll save that for Christmas). Even though this time together will be amazing, I do wish that my whole family could be together for Thanksgiving!

I have so much to be thankful for. Our Sr. Pastor asked us to write down something we were thankful for during his sermon last Sunday, and then share that with the congregation. I could think of tons of things- but he asked us not to list 'family,' and a few other words. So, I was left with 'wisdom of others.' I truly am thankful for the wisdom of others, which has given me support, hope and guidance through the years. I know that I would not be the person I am today without it.

I didn't want Thanksgiving to slip by without my saying that I am thankful for you. Yes, you- and perhaps we've never met, but that doesn't matter. You found Mommy's Block Party, and I'm glad you did, because above all else, this is a place of encouragement. This is a place where we can connect, and lift one another up. When I began MBP years ago, I wasn't sure what would become of it. We've had a lot of ups and downs with this site, but the beautiful thing about it, is that it's really based on building a community, and we can't do that without you- so thank you, just for being you, and for finding your way to our site.

I'm also so thankful for the other voices of Mommy's Block Party- Brittany, Steph, Jess, and Vanessa. These ladies are my right arm. MBP wound not succeed without them. They are as devoted to this community as I am, and pour out their hearts in such beautiful ways, all to strengthen and encourage our readers. I'm very blessed to have these ladies walking along this journey with me, as we follow Christ's guiding light, together. We're a family- and I am absolutely thankful for my family.

I hope and pray that you take the time to jot down a few things or people that you're thankful for this Thanksgiving. After all, it wouldn't really be 'Thanksgiving,' if we didn't stop to say 'thanks,' right?

I will enter His gates with thanksgiving in my heart.
I will enter His courts with praise.
I will say this is the day that the Lord has made.
I will rejoice for He has mad me glad.

Happy Thanksgiving to you & yours!
