The Legend of Korra Book Two: Spirits

I will admit, none of us had ever heard of or seen this show. We had to look up The Legend of Korra and see what the first book offered so we could understand what the second book would be about. I was unsure if B would be able to follow these episodes, but we gave them a go.

I liked that the main character Korra, was a strong female, B was not thrilled with this fact. I could see why it does appeal to teenage male and adult viewers though. Most of the characters have some interesting aspects to them but not knowing all of the background from Book One made it harder to follow certain character story lines as well. The animation is really neat and very well done, I am normally not one for this style of show, but appreciated the work that went into creating it. The episodes do seem long for holding B's attention but again, teenage and adult viewers can enjoy more depth that they offer. There is quite a bit of Avatar history revealed which B seemed to really be interested in, he liked this part. With this being our first experience with The Legend of Korra, we were on the fence. I don't see us going back to watch Book One or continuing the series after Book Two, but it was interesting to watch and experience something outside our norm.
