Even though I am a Jersey Girl at heart, I like to think that after having lived in the south for 21 years, I know a thing or two about southern style. Anything goes when it comes to fashion, as long as it's cute, comfy, and embodies a bit of southern charm. One of the biggest trends in fashion right now, is the Chevron pattern, and it's everywhere from clothing to bedding and accessories. For some odd reason, I feel like we sort of own the Chevron trend here in the south, it's so well-loved. Often times, I want to be on trend, but I don't want to be wearing exactly what everyone else is wearing, so when I find a shop or boutique that's charming and unique, it's hard to contain my excitement!

When I think of spring and summer in the south, a lot of images come to mind, like my front porch, rocking chairs, lemonade or sweet tea being served mid-afternoon, boys in their seersucker shorts and polo shirts, and girls in cute dresses, cut flowers from the garden displayed in mason jars, and puppies playing with children on lush green lawns. A few weeks ago, I stumbled across a sweet little boutique, which seemed to embody all of those southern images swimming in my head.

Southern Sass Boutique is a place where southern gals can kick off their heels and have a little fun, while shopping for adorable on trend clothing and accessories. I was happy to connect with Gabby over at Southern Sass, who offered to send me a few goodies!

I really didn't know what Gabby would be sending to me. We had discussed a couple of items that happened to be out of stock, so Gabby picked out a few items for me all on her own, according to my size. After having looked the boutique over online, I knew that there was nothing she could send to me, that I wouldn't love!

My items from Southern Sass were individually packaged and wrapped in tissue paper.

Check out the adorable 'thank you' stickers on each package! I love the business card sticker, and love the mason jar with the flowers. I totally do that at home, with cut flowers from my garden!

As I began to peek through the packages, I felt like a child, excited to open up a special gift. If you haven't already figured out how much I love clothing and accessories, you must be a new reader! As soon as I saw Chevron, my heart leapt for joy!

I was thrilled with all of these beautiful pieces, and knew that I would have a hard time choosing which one to wear first. Luckily, the temperatures cooled off a bit last week, so the Chevron Print Blouse wound up being the perfect choice! The blouse is 100% polyester, so it's super lightweight. It's not quite sheer, but it's thin and very breezy and comfortable.

One of my favorite features of the Chevron Print Blouse, is the button sleeve. The sleeves can be rolled up and cinched with the button closure. It's a cute style, and it's practical for gals who want to look classy and sassy, but aren't afraid to roll up their sleeves and get to work.

This blouse has key features, like a front pocket, and non-traditional collar.

I love the aqua and white- such a striking color combination!

I'm really quite in love with the Chevron Blouse, and when I wore it for the first time, just about every gal I came in contact with that day, commented on how utterly cute this blouse is. I had so many moms, friends, and even some of the younger girls asking me where I got this blouse, and I was more than happy to share about Southern Sass, because when you find a little gem, it's selfish to keep it to yourself! The blouse turned out to be the perfect top to wear on my volunteer day at church, for teaching music to our sweet little 3-5 year-olds. I was comfortable moving around in it all day, and hated to have to take it off when I got home.

No blouse could ever keep me away from cuddles with my son, and the Chevron Print Blouse can handle just about anything!

I paired the light pink earrings that Gabby sent to me with the Chevron Blouse for an extra style pop!

After feeling so wonderful, wearing the Chevron Blouse, I knew that I would love the Chevron Flare dress in peach. The dress is short and sweet, and the color combination is so pretty! Instead of screaming 'trendy,' this sweet little dress sweetly whispers femininity.

I paired the Chevron Flare dress with an off white sandal, and the statement necklace and earrings that were sent to me.

One of my favorite things about this dress, is that it's lined! Hallelujah for a lined dress! It's so hard to find the right undergarments to wear with dresses sometimes, because of different cuts, necklines and lengths. Purchasing a dress that is already lined takes the guesswork out if, and thank goodness... this mama doesn't have time to be messing around with finding just the right slip, bra, or whatever, just so I can wear a cute dress.

Short and sweet... a summertime must for any gal who loves southern style!

If I want to go with a true southern look for this dress, I could pair it with a cowboy boots. I have been seeing lots of girls wearing cowboy boots with short dresses, and denim shorts around these parts. If I get bold enough, I just might do it... I think it's a cute look!

I paired the statement jewelry with the dress, for a little added pop! The way the necklace just lays on the dress, it seems as though it's part of the dress! Beautiful!

Sweet, southern and sophisticated...

One of the biggest challenges for me when it comes to what I wear, is the fact that I'm a mom, and still need to be free to comfortably move around and keep up with my energetic three-year-old son. I thought the length of this dress might be a big concern, but as long as I can comfortably pick my son up in what I'm wearing, I'm comfortable enough to wear it in public. Trust me, this dress is so adorable- it deserves to be seen!

Loving this statement set- Circle Necklace with Matching Earrings

I don't own a lot of statement jewelry. I have actually sort of been afraid of it, because the pieces are much larger than those I am used to wearing. I'm a pretty simple girl when it comes to jewelry- just give me my pearls, and I'm good to go. The circle necklace with earrings that Gabby sent to me, however, are so cute! I love the light pink color! The neat thing about having jewelry like this, is that would can dress up a plain t-shirt with it, and look like a well put together gal, who put a lot of thought into her outfit before heading out the door. I am all for accessories that make your look totally effortless, and ladies- this is one of those things that you'll love having, and want to have in lots of styles and colors!
