Weekends with the Wigglesworths: Communication, Simple Gifts and Fellowship

Happy Saturday everyone! It is going to be a great weekend for the Wigglesworth family and I cannot wait to enjoy every single, God given second of it! Earlier in the week, seemingly out of nowhere, our oldest daughter felt the need to let my husband and I know we need to communicate more so that we can remember things like when we first met, and our first date, etc. The statement threw us for a loop, since we have not been arguing or anything recently, but it was apparently very important to her to say because she talked about it for nearly 10 minutes.

My husband and I have been married for almost 12 years and obviously between work and 2 children, we spend a limited amount of time in conversation about anything other than work and our kids. I had to think on it for a few days because I was trying to pinpoint something, ANYTHING, that would have happened to make her say something that is pretty deep for a 6 year old.I still have not come up with anything so today, I am going to take Drew’s advice to heart and start communicating better, not just with my husband, but with our entire family. We have no specific activities planned, other than baking cookies for our church fellowship tomorrow, so we have plenty of time to talk and just enjoy the simple company of one another!

Tomorrow is also going to be a pretty fantastic day. I love going to church, but this week is going to be even more special because we will FINALLY be in the sanctuary at our new building! We have been waiting a while to get the “Certificate of Occupancy” and when I heard that we finally were all set, I just cried thankful tears. I hope I can hold it together, but something tells me that the tears will be flowing again tomorrow. It’s going to be beautiful!
