I have a little confession for you- I am secretly a tiny bit jealous of all of the status updates and photos I am seeing of college kids and families enjoying spring break trips. Everyone seems to be in bright, warm and sunny locations, and here where I live, we're near eighty degrees one day, and then in the thirties with sleet and snow three or four days later. Mother nature is really having a tough time breaking away from winter, and normally, I wouldn't blame her, but this year, winter hit North Carolina full force, bringing us lots of snow, sleet, grey days, cold rain, wind just plain yuckiness! I usually like winter, but right now, I'd give anything for it to be summertime!

I'm ready to kiss my boots goodbye for a season or two, and show my toes! We may be taking a family trip to beautiful Florida this June, and I have never been more excited to get to someplace warm! In my mind, I'm dreaming of lounging by a sparkling pool with a cocktail in hand, and honey, when that day comes, you'd better believe this momma will be well dressed and ready for it!

Not long ago, I discovered Jordan Taylor, a resort wear company, based in one of my favorite cities, NYC. Jordan Taylor Greenburg, owner of Jordan Taylor, began his career as a road salesman in the 1970's. His family was a beach loving family (much like mine), and in 1996, Jordan ventured into the beachwear market. Jordan really fell into this market and liked it so well that he's been there ever since. Jordan Taylor offers the finest quality domestic and imported materials for their products. Elif Katik, a Turkish, ready-to-wear designer, joined the Jordan Taylor team in 2006. Katik has great vision, and brings a bit of contemporary style to the Jordan Taylor collections.

I fell in love with the designs available from Jordan Taylor and Elif for Jordan Taylor, and was thrilled to be able to select a couple of pieces from their spring lookbooks to try for myself! I poured over the lookbooks for several days before I came to a decision, and finally found the pieces that I thought would be a perfect fit for me.

My goodies have arrived from Jordan Taylor!

They may not look super impressive just yet, but wait until you fully see these!

First up, the J'Adore Halter Dress in Black...

I selected the J'Adore Halter Dress (which is also available in white), so it versatility. This is a beautiful beach dress that can also be worn as a cover up. I could definitely picture myself wearing this while at the beach with my family. It's the perfect little something to throw on over your swimsuit if you're taking a little walk on the beach, headed to the pool at a hotel or resort, or if you're heading to a meal, to grab a cocktail, etc- while on vacation.

The dress is a lightweight, airy rayon and spandex blend, which is super comfortable, and will keep you nice and cool while having fun in the sun. It's the perfect little day dress for your destination travels, too. This would have been a great dress for me to have when we were on our cruise last January. I would have worn this to cover up with in the dining areas, and paired with the right shoes, I even could have worn it to dinner, as it could easily go from day to night.

The rope braided halter neckline is what I really love about this dress. I love the white, gold, black and grey/silver, all knotted together, adding a nice contrast against the black fabric of the dress.

I couldn't wait to try the dress on, even thought we're still fighting off the icy weather, and see a little preview of how cute this dress really is!

The dress is a great length for summer. Carolina summers are just plain hot, sometimes miserably so, and having light, airy, breathable clothing for everyday wear and vacation wear is super important! The length of the dress is great- it comes to about mid-thigh on me, which means I am covered up, won't be flashing anything if I have to reach for something, etc. The dress is also loose and flowing, which is wonderful. No one wants to be constricted in tight, gathered clothing while they're on vacation, and this dress really works for whoever dares to be fun, flirty and downright comfortable while wearing it.

Style it up with accessories, and you're ready for a night on the town!

If you happen to find yourself out and about for a lunch date, a little shopping excursion, sightseeing, etc., while on a trip, this dress will be a great choice! I would definitely wear this for occasions other than just vacation. I truly wish I'd had this dress while on our cruise, and it would have been lovely to wear while on our beach trips last summer, as well. I'm looking forward to wearing it this summer, while having some fun in the sun with my family.

The Cozumel Maxi Dress was a chic selection. This lovely, flowy dress hails from the Elif for Jordan Taylor contemporary line of fashions. This dress is actually an unusual choice for me. The dress is without a doubt, completely gorgeous. It's long in length, sheer, and sheer perfection, honestly! I was drawn to the colors in this dress, as they are just beautiful. The light blue creates the perfect backdrop for pretty streaks of coral, and sunbursts.

Beautifully made, and perfectly fitting for an afternoon out or a special night out.

This printed maxi is light and flowing. It features a shirttail hemline, and the shoulder straps are fully adjustable, which I quite appreciate. I have a small bust, and I love being able to adjust my clothing as needed. Adjusting the shoulder straps on the Cozumel Maxi meant that I wouldn't have the front of my new dress gaping open. Adjusting the straps for the right fit, also adjusts the length of the dress. With the right slip or shape wear on under this dress, it can easily go from day to night. It's lovely as a cover up, but I can't wait to wear it out to a nice dinner.

This would have been a wonderful dress to wear to dinner while we cruised, on the less formal dinner nights. It's so lovely and comfortable, and would definitely keep me cool on hot summer days or evenings.

I paired the Cozumel Maxi Dress with my coral sandals, some coordinating jewelry, and added my sun hat for a cute and chic daytime look.

For more of an evening look, I ditched the hat, put on the right slip, and was good to go- dinner and dancing, anyone?

As much as I wish I'd known about Jordan Taylor fashions the couple of time we have been on cruises, I am so happy to have found them, even now. I know that there are lots more destination vacations in my future. I can't wait to hit the beach in Florida this summer, wearing my beautiful J'Adore Halter Dress cover up, and even more so, I can't wait to dazzle and delight my hubby in the Cozumel Maxi Dress for a special night out.
