Western Chief Kids Dinosaur Rain Jacket #Review + #Giveaway! #holidaygiftguide

It's feeling like Christmas! Well, sort of. It was feeling like Christmas a couple of weeks ago, and now it's warmed back up, and we have temperatures in the 50's, 60's and 70's all this week! It's sort of crazy! Rain is in the forecast every day, and I guess that's tough for us, because we have a lot of stuff to do this week! I have shopping excursions planned for Saturday and Sunday afternoon, and it looks like it's going to dump rain on both days. I'll have my son with me, and we'll be toting around in the rain, but I'm not worried, because we've got some pretty awesome rain gear to protect us!

Last year, I partnered up with the fine folks at Western Chief Kids, who make amazing awesome rain gear for kids. Not only do their kids rain jackets, rain boots, umbrellas, etc hold up against inclement weather, they are super duper adorable, offering unique styles and designs that kids love and want to wear. Western Chief Kids is under the Washing Shoe Company umbrella, along with another favorite brand of mine! Since 1891, Washington Shoe Company has been outfitting families with high quality rain boots and gear, aimed to be affordable, and always a quality product!

I remember hating to have to wear a big, bulky rain jacket as a kid, and even fighting with my mom over it. Kids don't like to be uncomfortable. However, parents want their children to be well protected against the elements, and having the proper gear can make all the difference in the world. We see a lot of rain, so B definitely needed a new rain jacket to get us through the winter and spring. We were able to select a design of choice from Western Chief Kids, and they had a style that I thought B would go crazy over!

WCK Dinosaur Rain Coat

When B's new rain coat arrived, he was eager to take a closer look, and to try it on. We selected a size 4T, to allow room for him to grow into the coat as the months go by this season. The Dinosaur Rain Coat features an olive green dino skin design, and a dinosaur face on the hood! The coat snaps closed with snaps that are easy for kids to manage, and easy for adults to quickly snap or unsnap, as well.

Here's a glimpse of the lining of the rain coat...

...and the dino-riffic hood!

Each sleeve has three dino claws on the cuff, too!

The outer shell of the rain coat is waterproof, protecting kids from wet weather. The inside of this particular design is lined with an orange moisture-absorbent fabric, which is a poly-cotton blend. The lining keeps kids warm, but not too hot.

I couldn't wait to see how the jacket looked on B, so we tried it on (with his dinosaur sneakers!). I was really surprised that he didn't complain about having to have the jacket on, and in fact, didn't want to take it off. He usually throws a fit over having to wear a hood in the rain, or if it's cold out, but he thought the dino hood to this jacket was the coolest thing he'd ever seen! Plus, there are dino claws on the cuffs of the sleeves- an added bonus, making the coat extra cool for little boys!

The hood is the best part!

The 4T was a great choice, fitting well across the shoulders and chest, and being just the right length.

One of my favorite features of this rain coat, other than the fact that it keeps my son cozy and dry, is that there's an 'I Belong to' tag on the insid of the jacket. We'll be sticking one of B's personalized waterproof name labels here, so it can be removed later and handed down to a brother, cousin, or a child in need. If the jacket is ever lost, the person who finds it will know who to return it to!

Good thinkin'! Love the 'I Belong to' tag on the inside of the coat.

Western Chief has all sorts of crazy cute designs for kids in rain coats, boots, umbrellas, and more!
