We're so excited that Thanksgiving will soon be here, and then it won't be long before we're celebrating Christmas! Little B loves to watch Christmas movies. There's something about the twinkling lights, the decor, the falling snow and the sight of a Christmas tree that just really gets kids excited about Christmas. It's easy, though, even for parents to lose sight of the true light of Christmas, especially when we're excitedly baking cookies, volunteering in the community and trying our best to work toward presenting our children with the best gifts possible on Christmas morning.
We are excited to announce the release of the newest VeggieTales movie: Merry Larry and the True Light of Christmas! We're big VeggieTales fans in this house, because those silly veggies remind us to keep Christ at the center of our home, our hearts and our world.
Merry Larry and the True Light of Christmas is a special holiday tale. In this story, we find Larry as Merry Larry, nephew of the King of the Mall. Larry dresses up as an elf at the mall each and every year, inviting the children to tell him what they'd like for Christmas, and spreading holiday cheer. With the Spring Valley Mall in trouble, Larry's uncle- the King of the Mall, invites Phil (Bob the Tomato) to light up his mall and dazzle the shoppers so they'll want to spend all of their time and money at the mall!
After the mall gets a holiday facelift from Phil and his crew, the employees of the mall and the people of the town are dazzled and going crazy for Christmas! There's one special little girl, however, who isn't really interested in telling Merry Larry what she wants for Christmas. All she wants is to spread holiday cheer and help others. She is desperately trying to raise money to help give her neighbor a new home for Christmas.
Of course, Larry is touched by this young girl, because she realizes the true meaning of Christmas- letting God's love shine through. So, Larry sets out to help this young girl by gathering all of the townspeople to help give her neighbor a new home for Christmas. In the end, Phil and the King of the Mall see that God is the True Light of Christmas, and helping others is what it's really all about. So, they set out to partner with Merry Larry to make a difference in their community all year long!
The story is told by a new VeggieTales character, Silas the Okra, who narrates the story. Silas is voiced by none other than Si Robertson! Silas is sweet and quite humorous in his story-telling... the whole family will be delighted to see him in this feature!
Merry Larry and the True Light of Christmas features fun new songs that the whole family will love, including a rockin' Christmas tune, Light of Christmas by Owl City, featuring TobyMac! Balian loves dancing to this song at the end of the film, and has just about memorized all of the words!
