Jess' Journey: The Road To A Healthier Me and Bestowed Box part 2

Jess' Journey: The Road To A Healthier Me

I've Made It A Month
Well Readers, it has been over a month of my journey and it is going along well. Im really starting to miss some things like pop, chips, and other unhealthy treats. I treat myself on occasion, but its really hard to say no when you're craving things. Luckily Bestowed Box has come to the rescue just in time!

This month Bestowed Box has sent me a totally GMO free box of yummy snacks and treats.  I was super grateful to see chips and candy in the box this time! It wasn't just any candy either, it was PEANUT BUTTER CUPS!!!

I introduced Bestowed to you a few weeks ago but for some of you, this might be the first time hearing about it. Bestowed is a wonderful company that sends healthy boxes packed by celebrity nutritionist and dietitian Heather Bauer. Each box comes monthly and is packed full of healthy and delicious food, snacks, and beverages. For $19.99 a month or $209 a year Heather will send you some super yummy treats and recipes to help you with your own journey.

The box is super bright and hard to miss.

Each box comes with nutritional information and recipes.
Each month the boxes try to stick to some sort of theme. This month (October) was a GMO free box. GMOs are a VERY hot topic right now. GMOs are genetically modified organism whos genetic material has been altered using genetic engineering techniques. GMOs aren't labeled in the USA, but the small amount of research that has been done is showing that GMOs might not be very good for us. However, we know that they require a large amount of pesticides, herbicides, and fungicides. Doesn't sound like stuff Id really like to put in my body. Here is what came in my box:

I haven't had a chance to try either of these drink mixes, but both of them sound good.

I haven't had a chance to try this fiber bar either but I love cinnamon raisin flavor so Im sure its going to be a tasty treat.
These dried chickpeas were SPICY! I put a few on my chefs salad one night and whoa mama! If you don't like spicy, these are not for you... however, if you like spicy you've got to try these!!! They would be great as a crunchy crust too.
These are a yummy twist on your traditional tortilla chips but hit the spot when you get that salty craving.
This fruit and seed mix was a nice change from traditional trail mix. It was nut free but salty and sweet.  It would be great for a hike in the woods.
Peanut butter cups ladies and gents! Non GMO peanut butter cups!!
Josh and I split our pack, but two cups are only 190 calories. We really liked the taste of these PB cups because they were sweet and nutty but had a real peanut taste. I LOVE name brand peanut butter cups but they don't taste like real nuts. These Unreal peanut butter cups hit the nail on the head.
This is by far my favorite thing in my GMO free box. Dark chocolate macaroon granola. OMG! This made my taste buds sing a song they have never sung before. Its sweet and fruit and chocolaty and crunchy and UGH its so good! It has 150 calories per 1/4 C serving though so you have to watch that you don't eat a lot. I had to measure mine out and hide the rest or I would have eaten the entire bag.
Want it? Buy it!
