Traveling this Summer? Don't Let the Hotel Room Bed Bugs Bite!

Disclosure: This is a sponsored post on behalf of Moxie Pest Control, written by me. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Summertime is here, and that means that millions of Americans will be hitting the roadways for summertime travels! Often times when our family travels, we wind up having to stay overnight in a hotel. My husband's preference will always be to drive straight through the night to wherever we're headed, but when we travel with my parents, they prefer to stop and spend the night somewhere.

One of our recent hotel stays...

Hotels can be a lot of fun, especially for kids. Since becoming a mom, though, I have become pickier about where we stay, the state of our hotel room, service, etc. I definitely go with the 'no bare feet on the carpet' rule until everyone goes to bed. Of course, we want to be trusting that our room is clean and sanitary, but since it's not your house, and you're not the one who last slept in the bed or cleaned the room, you just can't be certain that it's truly 100% clean.

Take a look at some easy tips to follow for checking your hotel room for a common, and undesirable problem...

Yikes! Bed bugs could be anywhere! I love the idea of scooping up some spare change when you look under the couch cushions! Free snack or soda from the machines, right? Hey, if you have kids (or even if you don't), it's important to take these extra steps to make sure that the room you're staying in is safe and clean for the whole family. Bed bugs are nothing to mess around with, and it's better to be safe, rather than sorry. Knowing how to check for these at home is important, too! I'm glad that I know where to turn for Pest Control Services in North Carolina!

Before you get cozy at your hotel this summer, leave your bags at the door, and do the bed bug check- you'll be glad you did, and you'll get a good night's sleep, knowing that the whole family is safe from those little buggers!

Happy trails to you...

  1. Another available treatment option that can be done at
home without a prescription is a topical ointment.
Once you do, you will know which type of remover to buy that will not irritate your skin.

Females and males have the same chance of developing them.

  3. Oooh! gross! A friend of mine who's an investigator said they did a review to see what part of the hotel is the dirtiest and found that it's the top comforter for the bed. That's usually cleaned the least.
