The top baby names of 2012 were just announced, and I thought it would be fin to share them with you.

Naming your baby is no easy task. My husband and I toiled for many months before we landed on Balian Joseph Maksim Witt for our precious son. We intentionally chose a name that had a strong meaning behind it, but one that was different. With parents who have the names Ondria and Aleksandr (note that Alexander is on the popular list for 2012!), we knew it just wouldn't be fitting for our son to have a popular name. BUT- to each his or her own, right?

Here's an interesting fact... Jacob has held the top spot for boys names since 1999! Wow! Lots of Jacobs running around out there. I kind of like knowing that when I call for my son on the playground, five other boys won't be turning their heads.
