Little Passports April Review

دهش
(SURPRISE!)
After what I thought would be our last Little Passports review, Sara contacted me and asked if we would like to continue reviewing for the rest of 2013. YES!! Of course we would, we have had such an amazing time traveling with Sam and Sofia and couldn't wait to share more of their adventures with our readers.

Little Passports is a company based in San Francisco founded by two moms who were looking for a fun and inspiring way to encourage an interest in the world for both their children and other children. Little Passports offers opportunities and experiences by mailing monthly travel packages (World or US Editions) right to your mailbox. These packages are filled with exciting items to encourage their explorations. Little Passports is deeply committed to educating children about other cultures as well as improving the livelihoods of children around the globe.

Being a part of Little Passports is easy, first you sign up (they have different plans for whatever your needs might be), each month your child will receive a package filled with amazing goodies from a new country or state, explore and have fun with your child. Check out some great clips and reviews of Little Passports here.

During your first month with Little Passports, you will receive an introduction to Sam and Sofia, a suitcase filled with a world wall map, a travel passport, stickers, an activity sheet, and access to online games and activities with a boarding pass (Our introduction to Sam and Sofia during month one was very informative, check it out here). Sam and Sofia are the two traveling characters within Little Passports and each month they travel to a new destination and send us fun things from their discoveries. We love finding where Sam and Sofia have been and what they have found. You can read our month two, three, and four as well to see where we have been.

We are so excited when the Little Passports package arrives in our mailbox!
Beckett read this all on his own, I love that he is reading now and seeing how proud he is of himself when he figures out a new word. Egypt here we come!
Can't wait to dig in and see what Sam and Sofia have been up too this month.
Up first was our letter from Sam and Sofia and the activity page. Beckett loved the fact that Sam didn't know where they were headed and Sofia surprised him with a trip. He also liked that they talked about how hot it was in Egypt, Beckett told me he had already known this and was glad they brought it up so other people could know too. There was also a trivia question in the letter that we thought we knew the answer to, but we were wrong and ventured into looking up the information.
We also loved the hieroglyphics code activity-it was so much fun looking at the Egyptian writing system and figuring out the code.

The picture of Sam and Sofia in the desert was great. We talked about the pyramids and Beckett was also very concerned with Sam wearing long sleeves and pants with it being so hot.

Next up were our boarding pass, that allows us secret access to games online. We had trouble getting our secret code to work, so we will keep trying. We also got our luggage sticker, passport sticker, and map pin sticker.
Placing our Egypt sticker in to our passport. Beckett was interested to see that his France sticker used the same colors and stripes that his Egypt sticker did.
Looking over the world map to see where Egypt might be. We have been playing RISK lately, so he knew the general area that Egypt would be, I love that he is constantly learning and using his prior knowledge.
Found it!
Putting our pin on the map. After he pinned Egypt, he showed Scarlett all the locations we have traveled so far.
Luggage sticker has been added (this is "hot" face that he said he would make if he was in Egypt).
The coolest find by far in our Little Passports package was the Dig Kit that Sam sent. It had three digging tools and a little plaster pyramid with a hidden surprise.
Working hard to dig out our treasure, this does get messy-fair warning.
After a lot of hard work, and lots of help from Mom, we found this guy!

I would have to say the dig kit was the best part of Egypt and maybe even our whole Little Passport experience so far. We can't wait to see where May will send us!

شكرا!
