Part of The Mother's Day Gift Guide

When was the last time you really thanked your Mom for being there for you? For raising a fantastic son or daughter, for being a nurse, cook, chauffeur, teacher, librarian, etc? With Mother's Day only a few weeks away, it's time to think about all of those selfless things she did for you, and do something selfless for her. Why not send her a gift basket from Wolferman's? Wolferman's, formed in Kansas City, has been offering specialty gourmet foods for over 100 years. They are famous for their English Muffins, but they are also known for their scones and other fine gourmet foods. They sent me their Harry and David-Lemon Lavender Gift Basket to review and it knocked my socks off when it arrived.

Usually when you see a photo of a gift basket, you know it won't look like that when it arrives. It's been doctored to look better in photo's than in real life. But that simply was not the case when my Lemon Lavender Gift Basket arrived. It arrived promptly, carefully wrapped in an upright box, so none of the contents would shift. You'd be amazed at how many products for review we get that are not packaged properly. I first noticed how beautiful the basket is when I took it out of it's box. Everything was in it's place and nothing was broken!

The Lemon Lavender Gift Basket Looks Amazing!

The basket itself is really cool, light yellow wood, with a rattan bow, which I think I will re purpose later with a wonderful indoor house plant, possibly some lavender! The basket includes a 7oz Lemon Raspberry Cake, an 11oz Lemon Tea Bread, 1.4oz White Chocolate Raspberry Cookie Bar, 2 Lemon Lavender Cookies, a 12oz Lemon Lavender Whipped Cream Scone Mix and a 9oz Jar of Lemon Curd all for $49.95. That is such a great deal and so worth it.

Lemon Tea Bread, Lemon Lavender Cookies,
and White Chocolate Raspberry Cookie Bar

The Lemon Lavender Whipped Cream Scones are to die for! I am not the biggest fan of scone, they tend to be dry and dense and I end up drinking several cups of coffee or tea to wash them down. However; these scones are so light and scrumptious I didn't feel the need to guzzle down coffee or tea. They were also incredibly easy and fun to make and it made them taste so much better knowing that I hand made them. Them lemon flavor is so light and fresh and scented with the floral and fragrant lavender paired with the lemon curd, makes this the perfect spring time treat!
Them lemon curd is so decadent that I find myself eating spoonfuls of it throughout the day! There goes my diet!

Perfect Lemon Lavender Scones

Lemon Curd, So Decadent!

I was really excited to eat the white chocolate raspberry cookie bar. I have a thing for cookie bars and this one looked so good, I wanted to lick it through the wrapper! I didn't even offer to share this one with the hubs, I ate the whole thing and it was soooo good! The lemon tea bread is also fantastic. Moist and delicious, the lemon tea bread boasts a powerhouse of lemon. I like to add the lemon curd to each slice to really pack a lemon punch! I really love that lemon curd!! The curd is thick and creamy, so full of lemony juiciness, it makes my mouth pucker in a good way! I would put it on everything if I could.

Lemon Curd Covered Scone!

Everything in Wolferman's, Harry and David Gift Basket is so yummy and spectacular. You will not be disappointed, I know I wasn't. 1. I would probably keep some and share some...I get very severe migraines so chances are at least one item would have an ingredient that would be a trigger, so I'd split it up with my mom by what I could and couldn't have.

  11. I would give it to my Grandmother...she loves lemon :) and I like to find different things for her to share with her neighbors at her nursing home (she likes to have "tea parties" in her room...so we try to give her nibbles and teas and such!)
