KidFresh Nutritious Meals (Review & Giveaway)

Every mom wants her kids to eat fresh, healthy meals that are packed with good nutrition, but if you're anything like me, you might sometimes fore go the super healthy options for the kiddos for the sake of convenience. I know- it's terrible, but mommas, it's the truth. The way we live today is so stressful, it's no wonder our children are turning into couch potatoes. Thankfully, healthful living and smart, nutritious eating is on the rise, and more and more moms (like me- and maybe you) are making healthy meals for their families a priority.

I have once again had the pleasure of working with Kidfresh, which strives to bring fresh, healthy meals to children, in convenient pre-packaged meals. If you're reading about Kidfresh for the first time, here's a bit of background information...

Kidfresh all started with dad, and Kidfresh founder, Matt Cohen, being tired of the often scary things kids were being fed- foods packed with artificial ingredients. With a desire to offer kids and parents fresh foods, made with all natural ingredients, Kidfresh opened a concept store in NYC. This drew a lot of media attention from around the world, so Kidfresh decided to expand their reach, offering their fresh foods to the public, by freezing them and selling them in grocery stores.

Here are Balian's two favorite KidFresh Meals- Rainbow Chicken & Rice, and Wagon Wheels Mac & Cheese.

Today, Kidfresh is available in grocery stores across the country, and we couldn't be happier that we can purchase Kidfresh meals right here in our own hometown, without having to go to a specialty store. We last worked with Kidfresh about a year ago, and I was excited for them to send us a few coupons so we could have Balian become reacquainted with their delicious meals. So, we hopped in the car and headed to our local Harris Teeter store, and knew right where to find the KidFresh meals in the freezer section.

Balian chose the Wagon Wheels Mac and Cheese first...

We let Balian choose which meal he wanted to have first, and it was no surprise to me that he wanted to go for the Mac and Cheese! We love Mac and Cheese, and it's one of Balian's very favorite foods, but I feel guilty letting him have it over and over again. There are some days where mac and cheese is all I can get my finicky toddler to eat, so I just roll with it. Since KidFresh meals are all natural, and packed with hidden veggies that Balian will never ever catch onto, I can let him have the Wagon Wheels Mac and Cheese, and feel good about it. I know that when I heat up a KidFresh meal for my child, he's receiving good nutrition, healthy food- free of artificial flavors, colors and preservatives. Wow... that's amazing. I mean, I can barely give him a piece of bread that doesn't contain all of that junk!

KidFresh Meals come pre-packaged, and are frozen to lock in the nutrients, and the freshness. To prepare, just follow the instructions provided on the colorful box.

Pull back the film, or slit it to vent, and then pop it into the microwave for just a few minutes...

Stir, and check to see that it's warmed through...

Voila'- delicious, creamy and very tasty Mac and Cheese!

Another favorite KidFresh Meal of Balian's, is the Rainbow Chicken and Rice. He loves rice, loves chicken, and is usually iffy about certain veggies, but he really loves this meal combo! The meal not only contains his favorites, but it looks appealing, with bursts of bright colors from the fresh veggies!

Rainbow Chicken and Rice- even I'd eat this! Looks delish!

Rice, and chicken from the KidFresh meal...

For some silly reason, Balian asked me to take the veggies out this time, and then separate the rice and the chicken. I obliged, and presented him his meal, plus a couple of extra things that hubby and I were having for our dinner. What I really love about the KidFresh Meals, is that they're great to have on hand for anytime! If we're having something for dinner that I know there's no chance of me getting Balian to eat it, I can quickly and easily make him his own special meal. When we're going to be away, we like to take a KidFresh Meal or two with us in a thermal bag. When Balian is spending the night away from us, or if he has a babysitter over during the dinner hour, we make sure to have a few KidFresh meals in our freezer, so the caregiver doesn't have to mess with or worry about preparing a meal for B.

The KidFresh Meals are a bit limited in our local store, but I know that if I want to make the forty-five minute trip to the nearest health food market, they have a larger selection, with more meals. I plan to stock up on KidFresh meals the next time we go to the health food store, because Balian really loves these, and I would much rather give him these good-for-him meals, packed with foods he just doesn't get enough of, than oh- chicken and fries or pizza! Moms and dads everywhere are loving KidFresh Meals, and their kiddos are, too!

  1. My kids are great at eating fruits but when it comes to eating veggies, they often resist eating them. I am hoping to find more creative ways to get them to eat veggies!
