Sneakin' in Science Review and Giveaway-February

Having a school age kiddo, we are always looking for fun ways to entertain B and keep him learning when he is at home. He has shown an interest in Science, but I am not always sure how to go about showing him these things. Last summer I purchased an experiment workbook geared for kids, but found that majority of the time, I didn't have one or two things to make the experiments work, frustrating. I also signed B up for a Science workshop camp at the library, while he seemed to enjoy it, he didn't want to share anything he had learned with us once he got home. I finally have an answer to how I can show B and even S how to do some cool Science stuff, thanks to a company who contacted us at MBP and wanted to share their company.
Sneakin' In Science was created by a middle school science teacher and mom, Sara. Sara was looking for a way to continue growing and sharing her popular classroom experiments. She started selling some of them locally, designed a website and tried her hand online. After some initial struggles, Sara decided to market her favorite experiments as a subscription set (1,3,6,12 months) and Sneakin' In Science was born.
The name Sneakin' In Science came about because Sara wanted to show that yes, experiments are fun, but you are also learning by asking questions, seeking answers, and doing more experimenting. All of Sneakin' In Science's experiments are designed for kids ages 5-12, and while some concepts may be more difficult for the younger set, learning is still going on.
Sara was very excited to share her company and experiments with us and we will be bringing you updates in March and April as well (so stay tuned). Sara was great to work with, communicates well, and our February Sneakin' In Science experiments were here quickly.
February is here!
Inside our Sneakin' In Science package were 2 different experiments
The "Film Canister Rocket" and "No Melt Snow"

The first experiment Sara sent us was the "Film Canister Rocket". We were sent all the supplies to correctly complete this experiment on our own, at home. It also included all of the instructions on set up, rules, and how it would work. Check out what we found out!
Our first go at "Film Canister Rocket"

As you can plainly hear "Do it again!" from both kids, which of course we did many more times.
Our third go at "Film Canister Rocket"
The kids really wanted to know what made the rocket go, perfect for explaining how this experiment works. Sneakin' In Science has included tons of helpful information to explain what happened-thank you for that! While S had really no interest in listening (she's 3), B was pretty intrigued on how it worked. He had done something similar with his Grandpa (using Diet Coke and Alkaseltzer) and remembered that the "Film Canister Rocket" was working along the same lines. Another cool thing about the Sneakin' In Science is that it also includes ideas to do other similar reaction-type experiments, which I am sure will be on our list to try soon.
Our second experiment was "No Melt Snow", again with all the supplies and instructions to make it go smoothly for us. Here is what we discovered!
The kids absolutely LOVED this experiment and were amazed that we made snow inside the house. With another pretty mild winter, snow was at a minimum, but this gave them the chance to play in it a bit more and we can get this one out again and again. I know when it is in the heat of summer, this one will again be a huge hit.
Sneakin' In Science has been awesome for us. I have never been fantastic at Science, but the experiments are easily explained, all supplies are included, and all the questions can be answered thanks to the thorough information that is included. Both of the kids are learning and having fun while doing, thanks so much Sneakin' In Science!
