Top Ten New Year's Resolutions

You're not the only one who wants to shape up in the new year!
Check out what most of America would love to make happen in 2013...

#1- Spend more time with family and friends.
(This may mean putting down your new iPad or Nook HD for a while!)

#2- Get fit with the family.
Going for walks, bike rides, trips to the local park, the zoo, etc all count toward a healthier family in 2013!

#3- Tame the buldge.
66% of Americans are considered overweight or obese. Starting the year off right with a weight loss and exercise plan can help make this resolution as successful one!

#4- Quit smoking.
I beg you- if you're a smoker, make this a top priority this year. Give it all you've got! You can do it!

#5- Enjoy life a little more.
Vacations, day trips, cooking dinner with the family- turning off your cell when you leave the office. Reduce your stress for a healthier and happier 2013!

#6- Stop Drinking.
This may not seem like a big deal, but unfortunately, I have seen what alcoholism can do, firsthand- just this Sept., my uncle passed away from complications- he was 49. If you suspect a friend or loved one has a problem with alcohol, do everything in your power to get them some help. If you have a drinking problem, wake up and think about those who love you- then get yourself some help or talk to someone you can trust. This is a disease that can slowly kill you- don't discount the severity or rule out the possibility.

#7- Get Out of Debt
Wouldn't this be nice? If you're disciplined enough, try following one of Dave Ramsey's programs. They're harsh, but I've heard they're wonderful, and can really work for you! Or- we could all just win the lottery, right? Oh, wait- we'd have to actually play the lottery for a chance to win, which would deepen our debt. Okay- no lottery!

#8- Learn Something New
Take a class like yoga, pottery, dancing, take up a musical instrument, or learn a new skill. The possibilities are endless on this one! I'd love to learn guitar, piano and a little dancing!

#9- Help Others
Volunteer in your community, give to causes you care about, organize events, or just plain help out your loved ones. Sometimes even reconnecting with old friends is helping them- or helping yourself! Go to your local community center or church to see how you can get involved in 2013!

#10- Get Organized
I'm an organized person, so this is NOT one of my resolutions for 2013, but if it's one of yours, we'll be sharing some simple organization tips in the coming weeks, to help get your home or office a bit more organized.
