I am so ready for all of the little goblins and ghouls to come trick or treating at the end of this month! I have candy and little trick or treat play dough packs to hand out, and I am crazy excited to let Balian help me hand it all out to the kiddos this year. We're planning on getting dressed up for the neighborhood parade, but I have a feeling that Balian won't want to be in his costume longer than he has to be. Of course, I want him to look adorable while helping me pass out the candy, and though he looks cute in anything he puts on, I really wanted him to have his own little Halloween shirt.



Luckily, Etsy shop owner- Janell Miller, of Sew Whimzy, is making my wish a reality! Sew Whimzy offers cute apparel for special occasions, holidays and everyday wear, with an upscale boutique feel. Personally, I love appliqued designs on plain shirts for the kiddos. It offers a unique spin to their regular wardrobe, and I feel that it makes the kids feel super special, to have such a cute shirt!

Janell offered to send us one of her adorable Halloween shirt designs. Her 'lil Monster design looked perfect for a sweet and spooky little boy I know. Janell did message me before shipping to ask me about sizing. She let me know that she uses Gliden T-Shirts, which run larger than other brands. I decided to go ahead and run with the larger size, which is really a youth size XS, running from 2-4. Balian is so hard to dress right now. He's almost two, but I sometimes have to get him 3T clothing, because he is so tall! I felt that even if the shirt ended up being too large, it would still get worn, and maybe, we could even use it again next year.

The Lil' Monster Halloween Tee from Sew Whimzy came to us packaged in a plastic bag, and neatly folded. I laid it out to look at it, and noted, yes- it would be a little large on Balian, but like I said, I knew that beforehand, and that was my choice. I love the adorable design on the shirt- it's just right! I'm not into letting Balian wear skulls or anything that looks too scary- I mean, he's two, not twelve. This sweet and silly little Frankenstein character is too cute! I love the coloring- Balian has a couple of other store-bought Halloween shirts that are black and orange, so I am thrilled that he now has a Halloween Tee of a different color!

Of course, Balian managed to get Fruit Loops and milk on his shirt before I could get a clean picture of him wearing it. Oh, well- at least the green spot matches the coloring in the shirt!


I couldn't wait to get Balian into his new shirt and snap a photo (which is becoming much harder to do- he never sits or stands still!). I knew he would love his 'monster shirt,' and I was right! As soon as I put it on him, he looked down, and patted the design, and said... 'That's so nice!' I couldn't help but laugh at my little cutie! Balian loved the shirt so much, that he asked to stay in it all day long, and I obliged.
