Part of Balian's 2nd Birthday Bash
I am so excited that Balian will be turning two this week! It seems like just yesterday, Sacha and I were waiting for his arrival, and two years later, he's an energetic, smart, and absolutely adorable little boy. Time flies, and within that time, we've sure made a lot of memories. I try my hardest to come up with birthday themes that I know Balian will enjoy now, and will make for wonderful memories later on in his life. This year, we're celebrating B's 2nd birthday with his pal- The Cat in the Hat!
Balian's birthday is this week, but his actual birthday party won't take place until Oct. 20th, so we're doing a whole lot of birthday celebrating between now and then. I wanted to make sure that Balian felt extra special on his actual birthday, and what better way to make your kid feel special, than finding them a special birthday shirt?
I hooked up with the girls at Emma's Bows and more, and worked with Lindsey Joyner Cross, to share some wonderful items available in her shop! Emma's Bows and more consists of a mother-daughter team, mom- Stella, and daughter- Lindsey. The two love to work and create adorable bows and apparel together. The fact that this is a mother/daughter operation, drew me in from the beginning. As soon as Lindsey heard my blogging story and gave the green light, we were set to work together on this special birthday feature for Balian.
I loved the Dr. Seuss Cat in the Hat Initial Shirt that I saw listed in Emma's Bows and More on Etsy. Lindsey happily agreed to customize a shirt just like the one in her shop, to send to Balian. Super excited, I couldn't wait for the shirt to arrive, because I knew Balian was going to love it!

Here's a closer look at the appliqued design on the t-shirt...
The gals at Emma's Bows and more use 100% cotton short or long sleeved t's for their custom shirts, making them super soft and comfy. Our shirt came to us in navy blue, with short sleeves in a size 2. The navy blue background is the perfect color compliment to the yellow, red and white coloring in the appliqued pieces. A capital letter 'B' for Balian was added to the shirt, and the fabric depicts some beloved Dr. Seuss characters from The Cat in the Hat stories- Nick and Sally. Topping the letter 'B,' is a whimsical hat- The Cat's hat, in fact!

Balian has been loving this shirt. As soon as it arrived in the mail, and I removed it from the tissue paper it was wrapped in, Balian laid eyes on it, and he wanted to wear it- right then and there! I had to let him try it on, couldn't resist! It looked too cute on him! I let him wear it for the remainder of the day, and then two days later, he was asking to wear it again. I believe Balian has worn this shirt three times since it arrived! It wears wonderfully- through everyday activities, play time, arts and crafts, etc. It has managed to survive through sticky boy lunches and snacks, and is a pro among its pals in the washing machine! I sometimes have to be super careful when washing these types of shirts, so I simply washed it inside out, and decided to lay it flat to dry, instead of putting it in the dryer, though I could have, and it would have been fine, on a low heat setting.

I have been so pleased with the durability of this shirt, and everyone who has seen it thus far, as absolutely loved the adorable design! The shirt is a little roomy, which is wonderful, because that means that Balian will get to wear a little bit longer! It'll be perfect to wear as the weather gets cooler, too- we'll just layer a long sleeved tee underneath, and we'll be good to go, with our pal- Cat!
