I hate stains- with a passion. I am not one to spend hours in the laundry room, trying to get stains out of clothes, nor do I want to spend tons of time or waste tons of money on trying to remove stains from our area rugs.  I really thought that since we have hardwood floors, and just a few area rugs in our house, I wouldn't have to deal with stains on a regular basis. Once my baby was on the move, however, it was a whole different story. Now that my baby is a toddler, nearing two years of age, stains are just part of daily life, and I have no choice but to mom up, jump on the stain removal train, or be left in the dust with dark spots and stickiness. Gross.

Lucky for me, stain removal just got a whole lot easier. I was sent a big bottle of Perky Plus Professional Spot & Stain Remover. This super-saver safely removes grease, blood, pet, and other household stains from carpet, upholstery, vinyl and other fabrics.

When my Perky Plus stain remover arrived, I knew exactly where I wanted to use it. We have two area rugs in our family room, and we originally put them down to protect the hardwood floors from scratches. Since Balian has discovered all things boys- i.e. squishing things, dirt, etc, the area rugs have sort of taken a beating. Now, the rugs weren't really expensive or anything, but they're what we've got, and they need to be kept clean, if at all possible.

I decided to tackle a spot where Balian decided to stomp on and grind a grape into the rug with his shoe. I tried to clean it with soap and water, and all that jazz, right after it happened, but it did no good- we were still left with a dark spot, staring us in the face. I knew that the Perky Plus would be up to tackling the task at hand, so I squirted some of the liquid stain remover onto the stained areas of the carpet, and then agitated the area by using the WHIZ GROOM brush. I really just raked the brush over the stains a few times, and then let it sit for 2-3 minutes. After that, I dabbed with a dry washcloth, to remove any excess stain remover from the rug. The last thing I did, was to just lightly dab at the area I had just cleaned, with water, and then dab it dry with another clean washcloth.

The result: a clean, almost new-looking area rug! I couldn't believe that within just a few minutes (ten at the most), the stain that had been plaguing me for a few days, was gone!

Bye, bye, stain!

I am hoping that I never have to use this awesome stain remover to get blood out of the carpet, but it's nice to know that it'll work on that, as well as grease, and other yucky stuff. I've got a few more spots on the area rugs that could use a little Perky Plus work-over, so I'll be working on that, the next chance I get! I'm really impressed with this product, and am super glad to have it among the cleaning products that I rarely have to use- but when I need it most, it'll be waiting, with all of its awesome stain removal power! I can't wait to see what else this stuff will magically wipe away!
