Who
doesn't love surprises??? Well, I know I do! When I first came across
the company Bundles & Buzz on facebook I couldn't wait to get a
bundle! They take full size and sample size products slap them all into
a really cute bag and ship it off to you. They do a mommy, toddler,
baby and a cloth diaper bundle. They will also have special bundles
like the super summer bundle and now the back to school bundle. I was
given the opportunity to review the cloth bundle.
So
as I waited in anticipation for my bundle to arrive I started seeing
other people post their bundles on facebook (I guess I live the farthest
away since they are out of Canada), then it arrived!! As I opened my
box I saw all the wonderful items inside. I must say it was a strange
mix. Not everything in there was “cloth diaper” related, and quite a few
things I will not be able to use, so they have been passed onto some moms
eager to accept my gifts.

This
is the item that by far makes me the happiest about the bundle. I love
love love cloth diapers. I never thought i would, but oh wow I sure do
now. I also love trying out new diapers. This is a Giggle Life
Bamboo Cloth Diaper. I have never used a bamboo diaper, but let me
tell you it is probably the softest diaper I have ever laid my hands on.
It comes with not 1 but 2 bamboo inserts (1 for daytime use and double
up with 2 for bedtime). I love how absorbent and soft it is. It also
fits my 6 month old son so well. Along with the wonderful diaper from Giggle Life they also sent coupons for a free gift with the purchase of 12 or more diapers. Giggle Life can also be found on Facebook check them out!!

Kawartha Cloth
sent over Eco Sprout which is a cloth diaper detergent. There is a lot
of controversy as to which detergents to use for your diapers so I will not
really get into that, however, I will say that I personally have always
used Tide so I was really excited to get a cloth diaper detergent to
try since they are usually way more expensive then regular over the
counter detergents. With that said this sample pack sent from Kawartha Cloth had
just enough detergent for me to do 2 loads of about 30 diapers in each
load. The package said the scent was “in the buff” however I don't know
what that is suppose to smell like and to me it just smelled like soap.
I must say I feel like my diapers are equally clean and soft with this
products as with my usual detergent, but i am will to buy more and try
it for a few more washes. Thanks Kawartha Cloth for your addition to the bundle. You can also find Kawartha Cloth on Facebook.
Snappi
was next in my bundle. A wonderful product yet not one I can use
unfortunately. I have not yet dabbled into the world of cloth diapering
yet enough to need this. It is a wonderful product that hold “fitted”
diapers together like in the picture above. Its the new version of the
safety pin. To me Snappi
is very similar to the apparatus that holds an ace bandage closed. It
won't poke or harm your kiddo like an open safety pin would and it's so
much easier to put on then using a safety pin. This Snappi has been passed on to another mom who was happily using it at bedtime for her son. Snappi can also be found on Facebook.
Oh pee pee teepee where were you 5 months ago??? Nic and Elli
sent this wonderful yet not so useful to me at the moment product! A
pee pee teepee is a great product you put it over your little man's
penis while changing him, since we all know that as soon as the cold air
touches them presto they pee! I know as a first time mom and a mom to a
boy at that I had no idea what so ever that as soon as the diaper came
off I would get peed on. It wasn't until after a few weeks of trial and
error I was able to somewhat master diaper changes without getting peed
on. This product is washable just through it in with your sons dirty
clothes and it is good to go for another round. Nic and Elli can also be found on Facebook.
When
using cloth diapers you are supposed to use “cloth diaper safe” rash
ointment/barrier. I currently use a very popular brand of such a
product. However when applying it you must either use your finger or
other item to apply it. Scarlet Naturals Hiney
Honey Quick Stick ends all the mess!! It is like a diaper rash chap
stick. Goes on without having to get goop on your fingers or making a
mess. The product doesn't really have a smell and seems to last a
while. The stick pictured was about the size of a chapstick and I have
been applying it at every diaper change for almost a week and still have
more than half the tube left. ( I apply for prevention purposes never
had a rash in this house). Scarlet Naturals also makes this great product in a tub form. You can find Scarlet Naturals on Facebook.
Green Humbug
sent over a product I never needed, even as a breastfeeding mom. I was
really surprised when my son was first born that I didn't “leak.”
Everyone I know who breastfed always told me that you will leak
especially if you hear a baby cry. Well I never had that problem. I
use to think my breasts were defective, I never had any issues that most
moms seem to have. But if you do leak let me tell you nursing pads are
a must!! Most people opt for disposable pads since they are convenient.
However they are plastic-y feeling and to me not something I want in
my shirt. Reusable nursing pads like these from Green Humbug are
great you can just pop them in the wash and they are ready to go again.
For the amount you spend on 1 box of disposable nursing pads you can
get about 6 sets of reusable nursing pads from Green Humbug. Green Humbug can also be found on Facebook.
This fantastic product from Maple Hill Dryer
Balls went in my dryer the second I was done opening my bundle. I
personally didnt have any dryer balls, but my friend has let me use hers
and they make such a wonderful difference with your laundry. “My 100%
Wool Dryer Balls will decrease, but not eliminate, static cling and will
fluff up clothes without using a conventional dryer sheet that is full
of chemicals. They are reusable and it is recommended that people use 4
to 6 to optimize drying time and benefits. Wool dryer balls are so easy
to use. Simply leave them in the dryer and use them with every load.
They range in circumference of 9-10" and 1.5-2 ounces. How do they
work? The dryer balls circulate and separate the clothing and get the
warm dry air right down to the core of the laundry load!
The
more you add to your dryer, the faster the drying time, softer softness
and money saved. They speed up the drying time and soften up by gentle
friction of the felted wool fibers against your clothing fibers. Not
only do they save money by lessening your drying time, you also will not
have to purchase conventional store bought, chemical-filled fabric
softeners or dryer sheets.” taken from the Maple Hill Dryer Ball Facebook Page. Needless to say my Maple Hill Dryer
Ball has not come out of my dryer at all in the past week. It really
does soften up those inserts that I have dried out in the sun on the
clothes line. I love how the sun bleaches them but hate how stiff they
get. Now with this they are soft and easily manipulated to be folded
and stuffed back into my diapers. Thanks Maple Hill Dryer Ball you can find them on Facebook too.
Softcup
was the next item in my bundle. Since I personally don't use them or
really want to, the thought of it kind of grosses me out, I will simply
stick to facts only for this product. “Softcup
is a flexible cup that is worn internally, around your cervix. It
collects, rather than absorbs menstrual flow. It's hypo-allergenic,
latex-free and completely safe when used as directed.” (taken from the Softcup
website) This type of product is ever growing in popularity with eco
friendly natural moms, in place of tampons and pads which are no good
for the environment. These are the reasons to try Softcup according to their website
Softcup
is great for busy women, or women who just don't want to have to think
about changing a pad or a tampon every few hours. Athletes rave about
how the Softcup carries them through a long race. Travelers don't leave home without it.
You can wear Softcup for up to 12 hours
Softcup is comfortable during swimming and sports
Softcup eliminates menstrual odor, since the menstrual flow isn't exposed to air
Softcup loves making love . . .you can wear Softcup during intercourse for less messy sex on your period
Softcup is comfortable—you can't even feel it once it's inserted
Most women typically use fewer Softcups than tampons or pads because of the long wear-time
You can use one reusable softcup throughout entire cycle...saving you money and the environment
Softcups have no wings, no strings . . . just freedom!
If
you use cloth diapers wet bags are a must! Who wants to lug around
grocery bags or big sandwich baggies to put your dirty diapers in? Not
me, being a cloth diaper using mommy I have quite a few wet bags, but
they are like shoes to me you can never have too many. I keep a wet bag
in our swim class bag, one in the car, diaper bag and our huge travel
size one for weekend getaways. Funky Fluff sent a really great double compartment wet bag in the bundle. With the Funky Fluff double compartment bag you have a place for clean and dirty stuff. This type of bag by Funky Fluff is
great because if your going shopping for a little while and don't want
to carry your huge diaper bag you can throw some wipes and a few diapers
in the front smaller “clean” pocket and be on your way. It also has a
great little “Snap” handle that can go around your stroller handle, or
diaper bag strap, or if at home then hang it over the door knob. Wet
bags arent just for us cloth diaper moms either, they can be used for
swimsuits or anyother “dirty” or “wet” clothes. So if you have a little
one who gets food on their clothes or gets really dirty at the park you
no long have to put those icky clothes in your diaper bag, just pop
them into your Funky Fluff wet bag.
Want your own Funky Fluff wet bag, then check them out here or on Facebook.
Everyone has a reusable “grocery type” bag these days, thanks to Envirosax. They aren't just for grocery shopping any more. Envirosax makes sure of that with a bag for every age, gender and any other preference you may have. Envirosax come is all sizes, colors, patterns, kids, adults, grocery and animal lovers. Envirosax can be used for anything that your heart desires. Our Envirosax
bag that we got in this bundle has now been deemed our swim class bag.
Its really big! Fits my towel and Cameron’s towel plus a change of
clothes for each of us for after class. This past weekend we went to
the inlaws for swimming and had 3 swimsuit, sunscreen, 2 hats and
Camerons towel in it with plenty of room to spare. Envirosax are a really great, eco friendly, fashionable way to carry what ever you may need.
