With summer in full swing, and temperatures finally starting to dip back into upper 80's and lower 90's here in NC, it's finally time to get out and play! We just had our postage-stamp sized backyard fenced in, allowing for our 21-month-old son, Balian, to have a safe place to play. Balian loves to play outside. He enjoys playing with cars and trucks in the dirt, sand and pebbles, and playing inside of anything that will make do as a fort!

With all of these wonderful goodies arriving at my doorstep at the same time, I was excited, and knew Balian would be, too! Unsure of which item to dig into first, I went for the UV Infant Play Shade. I was thrilled to receive this product! It's highly recommended by the Schylling Customer Service Team, and after having it for about three weeks, I can see why. This UV Play Shade is fantastic! It shields baby (or in my case, my toddler) from the harmful UV rays, while outside. We received this tent shortly after we returned from our two week beach trip. We had purchased a large tent to set up at the beach, and found ourselves not using it, because it was a huge pain to set up and take down. It's pretty lightweight, and wasn't holding up very well against the strong gusts of wind we were encountering. The Infant Play Shade is a lightweight, but sturdy pop-up tent. It comes in an easy to carry bag, so that you can take it with you, wherever you go. The play tent literally 'pops up' in seconds, springing to life! It comes with four sturdy plastic stakes, that go right into the sand, or ground. It features a mesh window in the back, that can be opened, or left covered. The two flaps that create the tent opening roll up and tie in place, and then roll back down, and can be fastened together for closure.

The tent is all folded up, and stored safely inside of this convenient storage/carry bag! 

Just pick it up and go!

It was raining when we received the pop up play shade. So, I popped it open in our living room. Balian wasted no time crawling inside the tent and playing. He was very upset with me when I folded the tent back up the next day. I simply wanted to take it out to the yard, so my husband could stake it down, and so Balian could play with it outside. The pop up tent now has an almost permanent spot in our yard. Unless it's raining, or there's the threat of a storm, we leave it set up in the yard for Balian. He has been having so much fun playing inside of that tent! He loves for me to crawl inside of it with him and sing songs. Our very favorite thing to do is to go outside just when it starts to get dark, chase fireflies, catch a few, and then let them loose in the play tent. They light up the tent, and we sit and watch them, and sing, 'Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star,' together. We're creating lasting memories, and the play tent plays a big role!

Aside from the fun we've been having from using the pop up tent, as a parent, I feel good about letting my son play outside, knowing that when he needs to cool down, he can pop right into his play shade and take a break. I wish we'd had this tent while we were on vacation! It would have been the perfect tent to offer the kiddos a little shade from the sun, and it would have been a lot of fun for them to play in, too! Now that we have this tent, I know it will be making a lot of trips with us in the future!

The UV Infant Play Shade is at the top of my summer must-haves list! When it comes to protecting little ones from the sun, we can't be too cautious! Just a mom-friendly reminder here, to use sun block, protect the kids with hats and sunglasses, and be sure to have a play shade or port-a tent with you if you plan on being outside for an extended period of time. This would also make a wonderful gift! New or seasoned parents or caregivers would be thrilled to receive this Play Shade from Schylling Toys! It's definitely an 'outside the box' kind of gift that will be much appreciated!
