If there's one thing that I love about fall, it's that I get to wear my favorite flats! I'm really a sandal-wearing girl at heart, but sometimes, certain situations and even weather conditions mean that I need to keep my toes covered. I'm hoping that we'll get more rain in the fall, than we're getting this summer. In North Carolina, we're sometimes still in the 60's and 70's temperature-wise, even in December, so when I say that I pretty much wear sandals year-round, I really mean that. I hate wearing sandals in the rain, though. Most pairs of flip flops that I own are leather, and they're really not meant to get wet. I also can't really take my son out to play, or for walks in my flip-flops... they're just uncomfortable, and I hate having to change from everyday outfits, into athletic clothes, just to go walking for 45 minutes!
Well, now that I have some brand new Chooka Skimmers, I don't have to make sure that I have an extra pair of shoes with me, in case of rain, nor do I have to don bulky sneakers with my favorite fall khaki pants or skinny jeans!

I was lucky enough to receive two pairs of Chooka Skimmers for review- the Nobotana Alana Skimmer and the Chantal Skimmer in Olive. These two different styles are both gorgeous! I was so excited when I was offered the opportunity to review the Chooka Skimmers.
I started with the Nobotana Alana Skimmers. These contoured rubber flats are so cute! I love the patterned design, mixed with the solid black. The skimmers even feature a pair of buttons, embellishing the side of each shoe. I wore these skimmers the first chance of a rainy day that came our way a week or so ago. I paired them with a simple black tee, and my skinny jeans, rolled up a bit. I wore them around the house, and felt like they were so comfy, I wanted to take Balian for a walk while wearing them. We have a great neighborhood for walking, so we were gone for about forty-five minutes, and then headed back inside for play time, followed by lunch. My feet still felt nice and cushioned in the the Chooka Street skimmers, just as they would have if I'd worn my sneakers.

Later that same day, it did rain, and I had to be out of the house in the evening. No matter how many puddles I accidentally stepped in, my feet barely got wet. The Chooka Street Skimmers have awesome tread on the bottoms, and I didn't have to worry about slipping and falling on a slick, wet grocery store floor. I can't tell you how many times I've busted my rear-end by slipping on a wet floor, while wearing flats or sandals (my dad and I both busted our knees this way- resulting in seriously painful injuries!). I don't think I'll ever go back to wearing my other flats in the rain- they're too dangerous! Why risk falling when I have a safe, reliable and stylish pair of skimmers? The Nobotana Alana flats go with virtually everything I own.

I even wore my Nobotana Alana flats just because I wanted to, the other day. There wasn't a cloud in the sky, but we were headed to a huge furniture store (okay- it was Ikea!), and it takes a while to walk through that place- especially on a Saturday! I wore the Chooka Skimmers because I knew they'd be the most comfortable shoes to wear for an afternoon of shopping... and I was right! Not once did I feel like I wanted to be done with shopping, because my feet were hurting.

I also received the Chantal Flats in olive. Now, this style comes in a variety of colors- olive, black, and red. It was a hard choice between colors. I chose the olive, because they are just totally unlike me. I have a pair of red flats, and several pair of black, plus, the Nobotana Alana flats were black, anyway. I wanted to experiment with the Chantal Skimmers... and I'm glad I took the chance on them, because I love them! I wear these when I'm out, running around town with Balian. These won't slip off of my feet (I know it sounds silly, but I accidentally step out of my flats sometimes!), and I don't have to worry about them getting caught on the brake or gas pedal (hey- it happens!). These are versatile enough to be worn to work with a denim or khaki skirt, can be worn with jeans or shorts, etc. I've even been wearing them around the house. Yes- me, the gal who never ever wears shoes in the house loves to wear these at home! I can't help it- they are so, so comfortable!

I got both pairs in a 7, and they are both super comfy, and there's room for a thin sock, if I ever want or need to wear one.
