BEABA BabyCook (Review & Giveaway)

When we first introduced Balian to solid foods, we were not loving the coast associated with it. Refusing to just feed my baby 'whatever,' I insisted on buying name brand baby foods, which really started running up our grocery bills. My husband begged for me to find a way to cut costs, and I tried everything- from signing up for coupons, to trying to make my own baby food. I tried a variety of different recipes, but each and every one of them turned out to be a flop- due to something frying in the microwave, getting way too mushy, etc. Eventually, I became so frustrated that I just plain gave up!

It wasn't until recently, that my husband and I discovered a great product that aids parents in the adventure of baby food-making. The BabyCook by BEABA, is a steamer, blender, defroster, re-heater, etc, in a convenient counter top size appliance. It takes up very little space, and grows with baby- allowing for fresh pureed baby foods, fresh steamed veggies, cooked rice, and more!

Sacha and I were lucky enough to receive our very own BEABA BabyCook to try, and we are absolutely in love with it! Balian is a toddler, so he's moved beyond baby food, but I can easily make things like fresh applesauce (even with added fruits like strawberries) in the BabyCook. Balian is a huge lover of steamed broccoli, and it's not on our veggie schedule every night of the week. We always keep it on hand, though, and I can quickly and easily prepare a steamed broccoli serving for B, without having to get out a pot and lid.

Can't wait to open up the BEABA BabyCook and see what it can do!

Our very first attempt at using the BabyCook was a little tricky. It comes with wonderful, helpful instructions (with pictures- for all you visual learners!), that were easy to follow. We first wanted to try to steam some broccoli for B, and followed the directions that came with our BabyCook. We added water to the reservoir, which is used to steam the veggies- this helps to preserve natural vitamins and nutrients, as well as fresh flavor. We added the broccoli, and set the dial on the BabyCook to steam, as directed. There is a handy light on the BabyCook that lets you know when the steamed veggies are ready. On our first attempt, we overcooked the broccoli a little too much for B's taste. The next time we tried it, we got it just right, and Balian enjoyed a nice helping of delicious steamed broccoli.

The BabyCook is so cute and small- it fits perfectly on the counter top,
or little side table next to our stove!

All done! The light on the BabyCook went off,
indicating that the broccoli was finished steaming. Time to eat!

I have made lots of veggies for Balian using the BabyCook by BEABA. We've steamed carrots, zucchini, broccoli, and even rice in our BabyCook! It's so nice to be able to make individual servings just for Balian, quickly and easily in the BabyCook! I wish we'd had this when B was a baby! I can't wait to use this to make fresh baby food when we decide to add onto our family.

When we're done using our BabyCook, the bowl and lid go right into the top rack of our dishwasher, as those are all dishwasher safe. Clean-up couldn't be easier! I use the BabyCook throughout the day- at breakfast time (I defrost and warm up thing like frozen french toast sticks, etc.), at lunch time for reheating leftovers, or for cooking up some carrots, and especially at dinner time, when Sacha and I are having something that Balian won't touch- I use the BabyCook to cook rice, a veggie and then warm up some chicken (we always seem to have leftover chicken for our little man). I don't dread meal times, because the BabyCook cuts out so many steps, when it comes to preparing foods for my toddler. I've even used the BabyCook to blend small chips of ice with fresh fruit and milk, then poured the mixture into ice cube trays, to make homemade smoothie pops for Balian. He thinks he's getting ice cream, which makes him happy, and I'm just happy that he's getting some fresh fruits!
