When my husband and I got married, almost five years ago, I realized that I was being introduced to a different way of life. Fun and fancy-free, and full of things like messes in the kitchen, piles of laundry on the floor, and stained clothing. When I became a mom, I had no idea that I would quickly have to become a master stain-remover- working quickly to remove stains like spit-up, stains from cloth diapers, onto strained peas, pureed carrots, etc. Now, we've moved on to more sophisticated stains, like tomato sauce, salsa, grass stains on khaki shorts, etc.

 

I hate stains, and they hate me, too! Many stains, if left untreated, stick with you forever. I can't afford for our personal wardrobes to be ruined and riddled with stains, so when I find a stain remover that works well, I like to stick with it. 

 My stain-fighting package of goodies from Shout®...

I recently received a package of goodies from Shout®, a well-known family of products for stain removal. They sent me:

 I was excited to receive these stain-fighters, mostly because I had just run out of the stain-fighting product we had been using, and I hadn't used Shout® on stains since I still lived in my parents house! 

Unsure of which product to try first, I noticed the Wipes. The Shout® Wipes are portable, and are meant to be used for removing stains, right after they happen! I thought back to the last time my dad and I had lunch together. He dripped something on his dress shirt, and we spent ten minutes dipping napkins in a water glass at the restaurant, trying to get the stain to come out before he had to head back to work. I took about six of the wipes (they come twenty to a box) and placed them in our diaper bag. Stains are really unavoidable, so I thought it would be best just to have those on hand. This past week, when  we were out to lunch, right on cue, my dad dripped salsa on his new polo shirt. He started to reach for the water glass, but I stopped him, and handed him one of the Shout® Wipes. He removed it from the package, and wiped at the salsa stain, then blotted excess moisture away, as directed, with a dry napkin. The stain was instantly lifted! He was impressed, and so was I. This is one of those things that I'm going to have to keep with me at all times! I love that these wipes can be used on clothing, carpet, and auto interiors. They literally lift the stains right away, and they go wherever you go! 

Of course, the Shout® Triple Acting Formula has quickly become my new best pal. Balian is a busy, active twenty-month-old, and stains occur multiple times a day at our house. I am constantly having to work my magic on stains like mac and cheese, pizza, chocolate, grass, etc. He recently stained his new white onesie from Funkoos, and I had Cheerwine soda sprayed on one of my new shirts a couple of weeks ago. The soda stain was an accident, but I was not happy. Cheerwine is a local soda, with its headquarters right here in NC. It's a thick, deep red soda. Tastes fantastic- there's nothing else like it, but it leaves the worst stains ever! So, I removed my shirt, laid it on top of my washing machine, and gave it a spray with  the Shout® Triple Acting Formula. This spray is formulated with stain-fighting ingredients and enzymes, which break up tough stains, and remove them. It's safe for all colorfast washables, and works in all water temperatures.

So, I put it to the test with my shirt, Balian's onesie, a mac and cheese-laden shirt, and a pair of his new church shorts that wound up with a grass stain.

I am pleased to report that all of the stains came out! I was really worried about the Cheerwine stain, and the grass stain- but the clothes look as good as new, and we can go on wearing them, without having to worry about them looking stained!

Here's something else every mom is going to want to have in her laundry room- the Shout® Advanced Ultra Gel Brush. What I love about this product, is that I can use it to treat a stain right away, and then let it sit for up to a week before washing! So, when my husband stains his shirt while helping me cook dinner on a Tuesday night, I can use this thick stain-fighting formula by rubbing the gel directly onto the stain with the built-in brush at the top of the bottle, let it sit until laundry day, and then wash, as planned on Saturday. Not long ago, I did a bad mommy thing- I washed a mixed load of whites and colors, thinking that if I washed everything in cold water, as I usually do, they would be fine. I later realized that my hot pink work out top was the culprit, and was mad at myself- because I hadn't had a laundry accident like this in years!
