Part of our Father's Day Gift Guide

Clever mamas know that when it comes to Father's Day, finding the perfect gift for dad isn't always easy. Luckily, if you're reading this, you were clever enough to check for great ideas here at MBP, and I have to say that I think this clever product is going to be a big hit with the dudes!

Lisa had a great product in mind to feature for Father's Day, knowing how hard it can be to find a great gift for dad. Personally, I have always found Father's Day to be tricky. Not only do I need to find a great gift for my own dad, I now have the added responsibility of helping my 20-month-old son find a great gift to give to my husband on this special day. So, when Lisa suggested that I try out the Gear Pockets- Original, I was pretty sure my husband was going to love it!

Lisa wasted no time in sending out the Gear Pockets- Original to us, and I couldn't wait to get it out of the package. The Gear Pockets- Original came packaged in its own bag, which meant that it was already prepared for gift giving. If I were going to give it as a gift, all I would have to do is stick it down in a gift bag, or skip the gift bag entirely, and maybe just put a bow on it. When I removed the Gear Pockets-Original from its bag, unrolled it and laid it out on my dining table, I couldn't get over the size of it! This clever organizer is 26" wide by 48" long!

The Gear Pockets- Original features nine pockets, with mesh fronts. Each pocket is the same size. The Gear Pockets Original has four metal grommets along the top, which you can use to hang on the wall with nails, or you can use the four metal hooks that also come with the Gear Pockets- Original to hang it from a shelf, etc. There are also four buckles with straps along the bottom of the Gear Pockets- Original, which allows you to easily roll it up and take it with you, or for storage purposes.

To fully experience just how wonderful the Gear Pockets- Original really is, I had to put it to use. So, I headed out to my back porch with it. My back porch is covered, and sits right off of the kitchen, leading to the back yard and driveway. This is where a lot of things tend to get stored- equipment, tubs full of seasonal decor, and it's where we keep our recyclable items, as well. I love our house, but it doesn't have the storage we need. I have an old baker's rack along one of the walls, where I kept my gardening tools and supplies, along with all of my husband's car washing products. No matter how many times I've straightened it up, it always looks cluttered and disastrous. I decided to hang the Gear Pockets- Original up out on the porch to see if I could use it to store some of these items and declutter the baker's rack. As I started moving items from one side of the porch to the other, and began placing some of the items into the pockets, I instantly became delighted, because the Gear Pockets- Original was working like a charm! I couldn't believe how many small items I could fit into just one of the nine pockets! There was plenty of storage space for the car washing supplies, my hand-held gardening tools, and fertilizers, cables, cords, etc. I was actually looking around for items to fill the remaining pockets!

All of my hubby's car washing supplies are in these three pockets on the bottom row of the Gear Pockets- Original. He loves how easy it is to quickly find and grab what he needs!

The Gear Pockets- Original not only helped me de-clutter the baker's rack, which I can now use to store larger items (like the shop-vac), it helped me organize all of the little stuff that was just sitting around. Now, when we're ready to wash the car, I can find the soap, sponges, cloths, wax, etc, all in one pocket! In another pocket, I keep my small gardening tools, clippers, and gloves. Fertilizers and bug sprays are in another pocket, out of reach from my curious toddler. The pockets of the Gear Pockets- Original are so roomy, I can fit a regular-sized frisbee in there! Whoa! If my husband trusted leaving his tools back on the porch, the Gear Pockets- Original would be a great place to store and hold hammers, levels, etc! It's also a great place to store some of Balian's smaller outdoor toys, balls, and more!

The Gear Pockets- Original truly exceeded my expectations, and I have been left wanting to buy one for my parents to hang in their garage. It would be perfect to store a few pet toys, leashes, and other items that just plain need to be off of dusty old garage shelving units.
