Wildtree with Tammy (Review & Giveaway)

I don't know about your family, but my my family LOVES breakfast. Sadly, we are usually way too busy to actually get to sit down and enjoy a real breakfast together. Most families do their big breakfast on Saturday or Sunday. Our Saturdays are always busy, and Sundays- we're at church from 8:15 AM until 12:30 PM. When my husband and I were newlyweds, we so enjoyed sleeping in on Saturdays, waking up together around 8:30 or 9 AM, and then heading into the kitchen to cook together. Now that we have a child, things are definitely different. We want to make time for family time and we want to enjoy that time we have together. I want my son to be able to experience and come to love Saturday mornings, just as I did when I was a child. Fortunately, I am now able to whip up a nice breakfast for my family on a Saturday morning with the help of new MBP friend Tammy Walker, who is a Team Leader with Wildtree.

Tammy recently introduced me to Wildtree's delicious products- cooking oils, blends, seasonings, mixes and so much more! I am always intrigued by products that look like they'll make my life easier, are healthy and will make my family happy (because I'm definitely dealing with two very picky eaters!).

I love what Tammy's e-mail signature says of Wildtree:

Tammy offered to send me Wildtree's yummy Gourmet Crepe Mix, and I immediately accepted. When she mentioned 'crepes,' my mind flashed back to the summer of 2005, when my hubby (we were just dating way back then) and I were on our cruise to the Bahamas! We enjoyed an international buffet, where they offered a 'crepes bar,' and they were just incredibly delicious! My mouth was watering as I read Tammy's e-mail and then checked out her Wildtree website.

 Gourmet Crepe Mix from Wildtree

It only took a couple of days for the Gourmet Crepe Mix to arrive from Tammy, and per my original thought, I saved it for Saturday morning. While Sacha and Balian were waking up, I was in the kitchen, sipping my coffee and mixing up the crepe mix. It was incredibly easy to do. I just followed the directions on the Wildtree package- mixed the packaged mix with milk, and whisked until smooth. I called Sacha into the kitchen to man the actual making of the crepes. You have to be patient with crepes- and I'm just not a patient person. This is why he makes the grilled cheese sandwiches! We pulled out our 6 inch omelet pan, threw in a little butter, let it get warm, and then poured in a little crepe batter. We swirled it around until the pan was covered, and then let it sit for about two minutes per side, at medium heat.

Getting ready to mix up the Crepe Mix from Wildtree...

 Whisking away...

Lookin' mighty good in the pan...

The crepes did take quite a while. We made about ten of them, one at a time. If we'd not had a toddler to keep an eye on, we could have made two at a time, using two different pans. As the crepes came out of the pan, they looked beautiful! They were nice and golden brown, and super flexible- which is what you want in a crepe. We didn't get all fancy with our crepes (though, if I had thought about it, I would have made a sweet cream filling for it with vanilla and cream cheese!)... we just enjoyed them rolled up with a little powdered sugar. If I were going to eat them any way I desired, I'd probably spread Nutella on them and load them up with raspberries! Mmm!

Crepes all stacked up, waiting for us to devour them!

Hubby's crepes all nicely rolled up and dusted with powdered sugar...

There are a lot of different ways to eat crepes- plain (like my husband), sweet, or savory! If you've never had crepes, I would suggest trying them. They are a thin, French pancake and very delicious. Check Tammy's website for lots of great recipes and ideas!

My crepes- powdered sugar, cinnamon and syrup! Oh, yeah- I went there!

Balian enjoyed the crepes, too!

I am so in love with Wildtree after having tried just one of their items!
I can't wait to try more of their yummy, natural offerings!
I would love to get my hands on these...
