These days, being a blogger means you also have to be a business person. I never could have imagined the workload that would come along with a fast-growing blog. I have to be my own PR person, handle legal stuff, spend half the day checking stats, returning e-mails and phone calls, placing ads, spending hours on reviews, keeping up with our social media sites, and more! I love it all, and thrive on being busier than I can handle, but there are some things I just can't do. I can sit here and try to figure out html codes, scripts and do a little bit of graphic design, but that's about it. It's really amazing to me how influential bloggers really are, how many parents rely on the opinions of trusted mom-bloggers, etc. I want my blog to look great, I want the information to remain key, and I want that information available on every social platform there is, so that everyone can find it and view it, and hopefully share it very easily.

Not long ago, I became Facebook friends with Laura Meckley, Creative Director of Little Bee Marketing. I immediately started to check out the services and designs that Little Bee Marketing offered their clients. I was blown away by what I saw, and was extremely happy to have Little Bee Marketing be the very first advertiser in the Business Services category of our MBP Directory! 

A couple of weeks ago, while I was on a music recording weekend, Laura e-mailed me, asking if I would be interested in reviewing a customized mobile page for MBP? First off, I was completely honored that she chose MBP to review this fairly new service to Little Bee Marketing's clients. Secondly, I said, 'heck yeah!' I didn't have to hesitate to even think about it for a second! I know how cool those mobile pages are, and what an enormous asset they can be to a business, so I was all for it! I asked Laura what she needed from me, and she asked me for some graphics, and then said she would get working on a mock-up for me. Not even an hour later, she had already e-mailed me back with a couple of images and the QR Code for the MBP Mobile Page! I was floored by how quickly an inquiry turned into a finished product! Laura didn't waste any time getting us ready to roll, and I didn't waste any time testing the QR Code, either!

Laura instructed me to simply scan the QR 'quick response' Code image that displayed on my computer screen, using the barcode scanner app on my smartphone. I scanned it, and was immediately taken to an awesome-looking custom mobile page for Mommy's Block Party! Laura designed it so that our logo runs across the top, and then there are buttons to take you to the MBP Website (our blog), our MBP Directory and a Contact button, as well! Along the bottom, she used our social media bar, so that anyone can get to us on Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest and/or Google Plus with a simple touch! I love the simplicity of the page- everything is easy to see, and easy to get to. I also love that the colors compliment the colors used on our blog, and the fonts match, as well.

Now, you need to know that a mobile page is not an app in any way, shape or form. It is truly its own page, which contains links to all of the important sites and platforms associated with the business or person (in this case, with Mommy's Block Party). I asked Laura what I ought to do with the QR Code for MBP, and she suggested putting it on our Facebook page, our website, our directory and having it on our printed materials. We're looking into business cards, and I am absolutely going to either have the QR Code printed on them or have it printed on a sticker that I will later place on the card, myself! This way, everyone can access all things MBP with a simple scan! This is the way to go in the business world these days. No lie- my church is even talking about printing a St. John's Lutheran Church QR Code on their bulletins! I think it's an awesome idea, and I'm on our church's technology team, so I will definitely be referring them to Little Bee Marketing!
 

I also have a direct sales business with Celebrating Home, and am a Christian recording artist, so those are two other ventures that I would also love to have mobile pages for! Think of what having a mobile page like this could do for your business! I love the concept of having everything at your fingertips, and Laura at Little Bee Marketing can and will make it happen for you, if your choose to enlist her services! I have been showing our mobile page to everyone, because I just think it's so cool! My dad was with me when Laura e-mailed me with the idea to work together, and when she sent me the QR Code images and I scanned them, my dad was like, awestruck by the entire thing, as was I! I am loving having this business tool at my disposal! It's going to make it easier than ever for all four of us girls here at MBP to share this blog with others, and I can't thank Laura enough for that!
