Chocolate Bread Pudding Recipe

Looking for a tasty weekend treat?
Give this recipe a try!

Our family decided to give up desserts for Lent this year. It's been extremely hard to curb those cravings for sweets (I have a huge sweet tooth!), but we are allowed to treat ourselves on Sundays. We really haven't even been having a Sunday sweet, but I am just craving chocolate so badly this week (I'll give you one guess as to why), that I think I'm going to make one of my all time favorite desserts in my Bean Pot and enjoy it Sunday evening. It's absolutely decadent and delicious, and I hope you'll give it a try and enjoy it as much as I do!

Chocolate Bread Pudding

You will need:

6 Cups stale bread, cubed (no crust)
1/4 Cup melted butter
1 Cup white sugar
1/2 Cup cocoa powder
1 3/4 Cups whole milk
1 Cup cream
2 Beaten eggs
1 Bag chocolate chips

Does this look good or what!?

Directions:

Drizzle bread cubes with melted butter.
Mix sugar and cocoa powder together- toss bread cubes into mixture.
Place cubes into a baking dish.

Heat milk and cream in a sauce pan. Do NOT boil.
Remove from heat.
Whisk in chocolate chips until smooth.

In a separate bowl, beat eggs until frothy.
Whisk in chocolate mixture.
Pour mixture over bread cubes and refrigerate for at least one hour.

Let dish come to room temperature.
Bake in a preheated 350 degree oven for 35 minutes.

Serve warm with ice cream of chocolate sauce.
