Cedar's Mediterranean Foods (Review)

In the spirit of St. Patrick's Day, I thought it might be appropriate to share about some yummy 'green' food that I just had the privilege to try for the first time. No- it's not Irish, but it is green. I'm referring to a delicious dip that I was able to try from Cedar's Mediterranean Foods!

Cedar's was brought to us just north of Boston in the mid 1980's, by founder Abe Hanna, who had a passion for Mediterranean food. He noticed the lack of Mediterranean foods in the local grocery stores, and knew he had a mission to fulfill! Wanting to bring fresh, healthy Mediterranean foods to the mouths of Americans, Abe got to work, and soon, Cedar's Hommus and Taboule Salad were available to purchase across the New England States. As the demand for Cedar's grew, so did their family and so did their line of products. Today, Cedar's foods are available from coast to coast!

I love Mediterranean flavors, especially Greek foods. I enjoy Hommus, tzatziki, etc, and when I saw all of the yummy, healthy products that were available from Cedar's, I was dying to taste their selections! Sokratis of Cedar's very kindly sent me several coupons for free products to try from Cedar's. I just had to head to my local grocery store and redeem them.

Well, I decided to jump on the Cedar's website to do a quick search of which stores in my area carried their products, but unfortunately, there was no such search option available on their site. This meant that I would have to chance it at the grocery store. So, I grabbed my son and my coupons, and off we went, in search of Mediterranean deliciousness from Cedar's. I decided to try Wal-Mart first, because I needed some other items from there, anyway. I was able to find one Cedar's product there- the Spinach Artichoke Yogurt Dip. I scoured that store twice, and went to two other grocery stores in town, and couldn't find any other products available from Cedar's. I had no choice but to purchase someone else's pita chips and head home.

After I got Balian settled, I popped the top off of the Spinach Artichoke Yogurt Dip, ripped open the pita chips and went hog wild! I absolutely love spinach artichoke dip, and usually when I eat it- it's warm. This dip is unlike any other spinach artichoke dip I have ever had, and because it's yogurt based, instead of sour cream based, it isn't heavy- and it's absolutely delicious. I couldn't help but scoop and scoop the yogurt dip into my mouth, because it's just that good! I loved that with every bite, I was getting real, sizable pieces of spinach and artichokes. I have had the yummy, yummy Cedar's dip for about five days, and there isn't much of it left. I've eaten all myself, too! My hubby won't touch it, which means it's all mine!

As if the flavor from the Spinach Artichoke Dip alone wasn't enough, Cedar's has tons of wonderful products available! I would try (literally) everything they make- because it all looks delicious to me! You'll really have to explore the Cedar's website to view their full line of available products, but here are my tops picks on my must-try list!

Spinach Wraps- so many things you can do with these!

 Artichoke Spinach Tzatziki...

Artichoke Kalamata Hommus- I LOVE Hommus and Kalamata Olives, so this seems like a winning combination to me!

And for a sweet treat- Halva. If I could find this in the store, my dad would flip out!
Halva is so, so delicious and extremely hard to find.

I am determined to try more of these wonderful products from Cedar's. I feel as though I have had a true taste of the Mediterranean right here in NC, thanks to Cedar's foods! I am going to be very persistent with trying to local Cedar's products while grocery shopping! I may need to take a trip out of town to find them, but that would be absolutely worth it! I'll keep you posted on any of the other products I am able to track down and try!

Want It? Buy It!

Look for Cedar's Mediterranean Foods in your local grocery store, and give it a try! You can even grab a few coupons here on the Cedar's website If you're a basketball fan and gearing up for the tournaments, you'll need some delicious snacks on hand that'll fill you up, but won't weigh you down! Ceadar's is great for snacking, lunch time, parties and more! Be sure to 'like' Cedar's on Facebook to stay up to date on all of their available products, promotions and more!

Special thanks to Socratis at Cedar's Mediterranean Foods for allowing me to try Cedar's products!
