One of the fun things about watching your child grow is getting to see the different things they are drawn to as they explore the world around them. One of the very first things Balian started doing after he was crawling and began to talk to us, was to pick just about anything up, put it on his head and say, 'Hat!' I love it! It's so adorable! At 17 months, he still loves hats- except the ones I actually want him to wear, of course. He enjoys walking around the house with mommy's purse, daddy's shoes or shirt, etc, so I thought that even at this young age, it might be a good idea for him to have some of his own 'dress up' clothes to encourage creative play.

I was allowed to choose one costume for Balian, which I poured over for a couple of days. I wanted to choose something that he could play in, comfortably. The last time I tried to put him into a costume, he threw a huge fit- so, I was being intentional about finding something that would seem like regular clothes to him.

I started my search by clicking on 'kids costumes,' then 'baby and toddler costumes.' There were so many categories of costumes to look through! There adorable animals, superheros, and many more! I decided to look through the 'TV and Movie' category to see what I could find. What I saw, were tons of costumes that could be used for everyday play. Lots of Disney movie characters were displaying, too! When I saw the Toddler Peter Pan costume, I immediately knew that if it was available in the correct size for Balian, that would be the one for me to get. It looked simple, and cute! I checked out the size chart, and everything looked in order, so I went ahead and selected that one for Balian.

It didn't take long for B's new costume to arrive, and when it did, I couldn't wait for him to see it! The three piece costume included a green top, pair of pants and of course- the green cap with a red feather! I first gave the hat to Balian, without the rest of the costume. Since he loves hats so much, I figured he'd get a kick out of it... and he did! He wore it while eating his breakfast the next morning, and even shared it with me.

Though he didn't really want the costume on, I went for it, anyway. Once he was in it and running around, he didn't really think anything of it. He looks so cute in this costume! Mom tip- You may want to just put a simple t-shirt underneath the top, though, because it is made of a polyester material. The costume can be cleaned, but needs to be spot treated or washed by hand.

I have been browsing other costumes, as well and have found several that I know Balian would love.
