Sometimes I look around my house and think to myself, what else can I add to the walls, floors, tables, etc..., but it can be a daunting task to make a new house yours. Everywhere I turn there are remnants from the previous home owners: a penciled in star on the stone of the fireplace outside, a game of tic-tack-toe carved into the door frame, ugly paint colors on the walls, and some holes that have yet to be patched. While my home is a work in progress, it gives me all the more reason to want to make it our own! It's exciting when you can put your own personal touches throughout the home and sometimes a truly personal, personalized item is just what the doctor ordered.

When we were contacted by Jessica Smith with Rendi, I was very intrigued by what her company had to offer. With Rendi being such a new, up and coming company, it was no wonder I had never heard of them, but I was about to be blown away! Jessica quickly informed me to go to her site and set up a profile to get started. Once I set my profile, I began exploring the site. Rendi is a company that gives you the chance to personalize products from signs, to picture frames, to wall hangings... the possibilities with Rendi are endless. I was on creative overload! Every time I thought I had picked out which product I wanted to create, I would change my mind and discover something else that caught my eye.

After taking nearly a week to decide exactly what I wanted to create, it was a tough decision, but I landed on a beautiful 19 x 4 customizable wall and table top sign. The sign is a gorgeous cream colored piece of wood shaded with and inset of polka dots. I was able to choose the lettering style and wording for the sign. It reads, The Brownfield Family. God has Blessed us with his Love and Joy. I chose that particular wording because we are truly blessed with his love and joy. Every day i am thankful for the blessings the Lord has given me, and I am grateful to Jessica for giving me that opportunity to express that feeling through creativity to end up with a wonderful piece to share with friends and family.

My Newly Created Rendi Sign 

When my Rendi sign arrived it was wrapped in a beautifully decorated box with words expressing that my piece was created for me in the USA! How cool is that! With so many of our products coming from China and other countries, I appreciate the fact that I know where my piece was made, and that I can have a piece of Americana in my home! After carefully unwrapping the sign and taking some pics to send to my family to show them what i had created, I had a hard time deciding where in the house I wanted it to go. First I put it on my table, but quickly decided that was not the place for it. I then moved it to the front entrance but felt like it competed with all of the other items I had placed there. My husband finally asked where I was going to put it? With a sigh of pure frustration, I exclaimed "Nothing seems to be the perfect spot!" He looked at me and said, "why not in the middle of the fire place mantle?" It's not a place I had thought of, but I was willing to give it a shot.

With a 46'' TV on top of it, I was worried that the sign would be lost amongst the giant beast of TV equipment and surround sound speakers. I cautiously place the sign on the nail, stepped back and stood in amazement at how perfectly it fit up there. It doesn't compete with the TV, the sign stands it's ground and gives it a finished feel that it was once lacking. I am amazed at how well it fit up there, and I really hate to admit it, but my hubby was right! That is the perfect spot for it and I am so glad he decided to speak his mind and help me decorate the house. Although, when I asked him about why he wanted to help me, he claimed he was tired of seeing all of my review items strewn about the house! Typical man!
