Jamberry Nails with Ashley (Review & Giveaway)

Part of our St. Patrick's Day Feature

For me, one of the very best things about spring and summer is having well-manicured toenails. I'm a classic, clean-fingers sort of girl when it comes to my fingernails, but I love color on my toenails! Before I had Balian, I spent one night a week (or every two weeks) giving myself an at-home pedicure. I used to have quite a variety of nail polishes, featuring every shade or red and pink you could ever want! I was always complimented on my color choices and neat feet appearance, but now that I'm a mom, my nails are the last thing on my list. I no longer have time to devote painting my nails, and I definitely don't have the bucks to spend at the nail salon on a regular basis. I want to sport bold, fun, flirty, funky toenails, though!

Lately, I have been seeing a lot about Jamberry Nails, a new-ish company that is already making its mark in the direct sales world, and making a huge impact on its customers. Jamberry offers its customers a simple solution to nail polish. Jamberry Nail Shields are a heat activated nail adhesive, featuring bold patterns and fun designs. They are easy to apply, and a lot of fun to play around with!

Ashley Lieske, a consultant with Jamberry Nails offered to send me a set of Nail Shields to try out for myself. I was so excited for the opportunity to try these Nail Shields, especially since practically everyone I know with a Facebook account has been mentioning them! Ashley sent me an adorably festive set of Nail Shields for St. Patrick's Day! They are green, and feature white shamrocks! How cute and fun, they are! I can't wait for everyone to see my toes on St. Patrick's Day!

The Jamberry Nail Shields come with a set of instructions, which I read before I attempted to do anything with the actual Nail Shields. I went through the instructions step by step, to make sure I had all of the appropriate tools I would need for the application. I needed my nail clippers, scissors, cuticle pusher/cutter, nail polish remover, nail buffer, a nail file and my hair dryer. I spread out all of the tools before me on my coffee table, along with the Nail Shields so that everything I needed was within reach.

Ready to go- my tools are all set out for the application process...

I clipped my toenails to the desired length. I then cleaned them with polish remover, and pushed back the cuticles. I gently buffed the nails, and then reached for the Nail Shields from Jamberry. Each sheet of nail shields comes with enough for more than one application. I chose the shields that looked closest to the size of my largest toenail, lifted it from the sheet and as directed, I held it under my running blow dryer for about ten seconds, until the shield became warm and flexible. I then pressed it to my nail, while applying more heat from the blow dryer for another ten or so seconds. I ran the back of my cuticle cutter across the top of my nail, as well. I trimmed around the sides to remove any access of the shield, and then I filed the rest of the shield off, using a downward motion. I repeated the process for each nail, until all of my toenails were nice and green!

My toes need some serious attention- but they definitely look cute with the
Shamrock Shields from Jamberry!

Now, this is just my honest opinion, here... the Jamberry Nail Shields are really cool, but it took me almost two hours to complete the entire application. Generally, I do not have this kind of time to spare. Some of my friends who represent Jamberry did tell me that the application process becomes easier each time you do it. I was glad to hear that, because I definitely think that the nail shields are neat, and they are definitely on trend right now! I think it would be really helpful to customers if Jamberry would sell a tool set along with the Nail Shields. I'm not sure if the majority of women keep manicure tools on hand at home, or not. The thing I needed most were the little scissors. I don't have any, and had to use regular scissors, which was sort of awkward and made things a little bit difficult. You can save yourself the trouble, though, and take a set of the Nail Shields to the salon for your next pedicure visit. Your technician can apply them for you.

These would have been perfect for my black and white wedding...

I wish Jamberry had been around way back when I attended prom, fraternity/sorority formals, and my wedding day! Jamberry has lots of really beautiful, subtle designs for special occasions, and they even feature a Bridal Collection! They also serve up seasonal patterns, and really fun, fresh and funky designs, as well as shields that are appropriate for every day wear.

Not my personal style, but these are really cute for Easter!

I am looking forward to applying some colorful, fun nail shields before I head to the beach for vacation at the end of May. I hate that despite my best efforts to protect my pedicure, the sand and shells always manage to chip my beautiful polish! I won't have to worry about that this year!

 Perfect for a slumber party...

Hosting a Jamberry girls night sounds like a lot of fun, too! I'd love to just get a few gals together and have an in-home spa night! Jamberry Nail Shields would be a really cute gift from a bride-to-be to her bridesmaids. Have young girls? How about a Jamberry slumber party? Jamberry Nail Shields are fun for girls of all ages!

I'm going to want to have a bunch of the animal print shields in the fall!
