~Part of our New Year's Resolutions Feature~

As the New Year has come and we are already more than halfway through the first month of 2012, I think about how to continue sticking with my New Year's Resolutions. We all want to "lose weight", "workout more", "eat healthier", and so on, but what are we doing to follow through with them?

One of my resolutions is to take better care of my body in general. Notice the "is", because I am still sticking with it. While reading one of my mommy magazines, an ad caught my eye. I knew this company and product could be a real way to help one aspect of my body that I am not happy with--stretchmarks. After having two kiddos, my stomach has some battlewounds in the form of red and silvery marks. I don't say I hate them, because they are a reminder of carrying my beautiful babies, but they aren't attractive and I don't like anyone else to see them.

The company is called Apothederm.

Apothederm's Skin Care line, which is Seattle based, has only been available since early 2011. They have some truly interesting and technologically advanced approaches to skin and body care. All of the products are free of parabens, phthalates, and fragrances, they also do not contain ingredients that cause pore clogging or formaldehyde release.

I was contacted by Kelly, who was very interested in having someone review their products. It shipped and arrived in a very timely matter and I could not wait to get it open and start using it.

Fresh from the mail

I was sent Apothederm's first released product from their Skin Care line, Stretch Mark Cream.

Stretch Mark Cream comes nicely packaged in a 5.7 oz bottle with a flip top lid for easy use.

The package states that Apothederm Stretch Mark Cream reduces the appearance of stretch marks and smoothes the texture of your skin. It also says to expect to experience:

Visible results in as little as 2 weeks with continued improvement over time

Improves discoloration

Evens skin tone

Improves skin texture and smoothness

Protects the skin to help prevent future stretch marks

Reduces the appearance of both red and silver stretch marks

Helps support and firm the skin

Leaves skin soft and moisturized

Effective for old or new stretch marks

**The package also states that following an independent study with a leading dermatologist, 70 % of the participants had visible improvement after 14 days, and 90% saw overall improvement after 12 weeks of continued usage.**

Wanting to make sure I would see the best results possible, I used the Apothederm Stretch Mark Cream for 19 days, making sure to follow the directions on the package for proper usage. The directions say to apply the cream morning and evening in a circular motion to areas with stretch marks, allowing the cream to dry before putting on clothes.

I wanted to make sure you could see the true results of Apothederm Stretch Mark Cream and if that meant showing the chubby belly, so be it.

I am so pleased with my results so far. My silvery stretchmarks are a ton less visible and my red stretchmarks have lightened some as well. I am still continuing to use my Apothederm Stretch Mark Cream as directed and can't wait to see my results in another few weeks.

I am not currently pregnant and don't plan to be anytime soon (if ever again), but I know that if that day comes, I will be looking into Apothederm Stretch Mark Cream to use throughout to help prevent new stretchmarks from forming and to continue to lighten the existing ones. I would highly recommend Apothederm Stretch Mark Cream to anyone who has stretchmarks.
