I love a good book... don't you? More than that, I love cuddling up with my sweet little man and reading to him. I try to be very intentional about reading to Balian. We started reading to him while he was still in the womb, a bedtime ritual where my hubby would read to my belly. I loved that cherished family time spent together each and every night, and while my husband can't be home with us every night these days, I still make sure story time sticks before bed.

Most children certainly have their favorite stories, but how many of them actually have a book that tells a story about them and some of their friends or family members? Well, Balian certainly does! That's because Katie Jones with Scripted Integrity offers personalized books for children. Talk about a wonderful story!

Katie kindly offered to send Balian a personalized book for his birthday, and we love it so much that we thought we'd include it as part of our Holiday Gift Guide, too! Balian's special book is titled Balian Rescues the Three Little Pigs. It tells the story of a little boy named Balian Witt who has to help rescue the three little pigs from the big, bad wolf! Balian's Grammy, Grampy and Grandma G. are all in the story, too! They warn him about the dangers of playing in the woods, because of the wolf lurking close by! It was wonderful for us to name Balian as the main character, and to pick three other people to include in the book. It was really hard to narrow it down to just three people. I included his grandparents, because I thought they'd get a kick out of it when reading to him!

The story is too cute! Of course, Balian will appreciate this a little more when he's older... and I am happy to have this book in our collection now, because it's a great story and it'll be so much fun for Balian to grow with! I have a feeling it'll be a story time and bed time favorite that is asked to be heard again and again! 

As if using real names for the characters in the story wasn't enough, I was also able to add personal messages to a couple of different places in the book. On the title page of the book, we added 'Love, Mommy and Daddy. Happy 1st Birthday!'. On the last page of the book, we added, 'Balian Joseph Maksim Witt, Enjoy this Book. A Special Gift from Mommy and Daddy.' How sweet is that?
