I was recently given the opportunity to participate in an exciting review for a children's clothing store. Hartstrings via Mom Select sent me a $100.00 Visa gift card to use in store, and asked me to blog/vlog about my experience. First off, I am totally honored and flattered that they chose me to participate in this campaign. Once I received word that I was chosen to participate, I looked up the nearest Hartstrings location and found that it was a little over two hours from my home, which meant that Sacha, Balian and I would all be taking a road trip! We headed to Smithfield, NC the Saturday following Thanksgiving, which turned out to be a great time to shop, due to all of the Black Friday sales going on.
We arrived at the outlet center, scoped it out, had some lunch (had to sit on a bench just because it was so, so crowded!) and then I grabbed my phone to take a video of our shopping experience at Hartstrings. Now, you'll have to bear with the video... I was taking the video (of myself) while Sacha manned Balian and the stroller. This is my first attempt at vlogging, but I hope to do it more often if I can have someone else hold the camera for me! Oh, and please excuse my hair... we won't even talk about the crazy weather we endured that day!

I had a great time shopping in Hartstrings. It was a little hard to get around in the store, especially with a stroller in tow. The store itself was very narrow, and there were a lot of floor racks, not leaving much room to walk in between them. The store was well laid out, though... the boys clothing was on one side, and girls clothing was on the other. The entire store was 50% off, and then it was an additional 25% off your entire purchase. Oh yeah- crazy good deals!
Now, my mission from Mom Select was to purchase one outfit. I sought out to find an outfit for Christmas Eve, but because of the awesome sale Hartstrings was having, I was able to purchase an entire outfit for Christmas Eve, a casual outfit, a casual top and a winter dress coat! I couldn't believe that we ended up with about $250.00 worth of clothing, and only spent about $97.00! Wow!

I couldn't be happier with the items we came home with. I love that these items can be worn together as outfits or apart as separates. I can't wait to see Balian in his new Christmas Eve outfit, and you can be sure I'll be posting Christmas pictures on here! The blue knit top and pants are really adorable in person, as is the whale shirt! It was a little bit difficult finding the sizes we needed. They seemed to have a lot of newborn through twelve month sizes, and not much beyond that until you got up to the 2T and beyond sizes. So, we were lucky to make out with the outfits we did! We bought different sizes, just because of the style or cut. Balian is really tall, so he's already into wearing the 18 month size pants, and the 24 month stuff won't be too far off, the way he's growing like a little weed! I am in love with the dress coat, and am glad that we finally found a nice coat for him to wear to church!
The best thing about shopping at Hartstrings (other than the amazing prices and the quality of the clothing) was definitely the customer service. The ladies at Hartstrings were really very helpful. They came around and asked if we were finding the sizes we needed, and they were so nice when we checked out. I'll definitely want to plan to take another trip to Smithfield to visit Hartstrings, but I can also shop at Hartstrings online, right from the comfort of my own home.

If you've never heard of Hartstrings (then you're like me, because this was my first Hartstrings experience), I would encourage you to take a look at their website or visit a local Hartstrings store. It seems like they have some pretty good sales going on online most of the time, and great in-store prices! If you're looking for special holiday outfits, every day outfits or gifts, Hartstrings is a wonderful place to look!
