Part of our 2011 Holiday Gift Guide
With the holidays approaching, I can't help but be thinking about all that glitters. That's right, ladies- I'm talking about jewelry! Earrings, necklaces, bracelets, rings and more, I love them all, and there's nothing like a little jewelry to add some sparkle to the season.
Since Balian was born, I have mostly become an earrings only mom. Necklaces are reserved for the occasional Sunday morning ensemble. Sometimes I get to do bracelets, and I would probably wear them more often if I had a better selection. I'm not crazy for watches, but bracelets seem to draw a little extra attention, and I'm okay with that. I'm not a risk taker with my jewelry, though. I live a pretty conservative life, and my style reflects that. My brother-in-law told my sister Britt that every time he sees a cardigan sweater, he says, 'this looks like your sister.' And I'm usually okay with being that girl, not minding that in my jeans or khakis and cardigan sweaters with a pair of flats, I look like I live in a J.Crew store. However, I once wore a really funky color of polish on my toes, and someone noticed it and said, 'I like your toenail polish! It is HOT! I like it when people take risks.' So, that instance got me thinking that every now and then, it's okay to step out of the box and wear something I might not normally wear.
Not too long ago, Hillary Reeves, consultant with Cookie Lee Jewelry sent me a bracelet to review for our Holiday Gift Guide. I was really excited be to be receiving a bracelet, because like I said, I have so few of them. I didn't go hunting online to find a picture of it... I wanted to be surprised when it arrived. I did, however investigate Cookie Lee, because I knew very little about the company, other than that it was a Direct Sales company that had beautiful jewelry!
Cookie Lee started her company in 1985 so she could stay at home with her two children. She realized that this would be an excellent opportunity for other moms just like her, so she went into Direct Sales to share her opportunity in 1992. Now there are thousands of Cookie Lee consultants, all living the same dream- being able to work from home and having more time to spend with their families, while having fun, changing lives and making money!
Cookie Lee's jewelry gets a lot of attention. I've seen their pieces featured on television, being worn by celebrities and personalities, and on the hot list in a lot of magazines. I knew that I was about to receive something special and fashionable! When my package from Hillary arrived, I couldn't help myself and just tore right into it! My package included a bracelet, three individually packaged charms, and a personal note from Hillary. Also, Hillary included her business card, which had an adorable hair pin attached to it! It really made me feel special to receive a personal note from Hillary... it shows that she really loves her business and cares about her customers.
Here's the whole kit'n caboodle from Hillary...
Black leather bracelet, three charms and business card with hair pin...
Close up... love that hair pin, lol!
The Personally Haute Bracelet that Hillary sent to me is really cool. It's a black leather band, with a buckle closure. The closure is awesome, because I have really tiny wrists and often have a problem with bracelets sliding right off. I can make this one as tight as my heart desires, which is really great! Along with the band, Hillary sent me three charms, which simply slide right into the bracelet. Hillary sent me M, O, and another M charm, to spell MOM, of course!
I truly love the Personally Haute Bracelet from Cookie Lee. I sort of wondered how often I would wear it, because the charms are a little 'blingy' for my taste. I wore the bracelet out shopping one day, and had a lot of people glancing at my wrist, and some people even stopped and asked me about my cool new bracelet. Can't say I hated the attention. This bracelet is extremely versatile. The charms come in numbers and letters, and they are all sold separately, so you can mix and match and come up with a million and one combinations. You never have to wear the same thing twice, if you don't want to! I have played around with my bracelet already. I removed the M's, and just wore the O... you know, for Ondria. That was sassy and fun! Sometimes, I take all of the charms off and simply just wear the black leather band... looks kind of rock star like, and I think every mom deserves to feel like she's a rock star every now and then!
Here I am, wearing my new Personally Haute Charm Bracelet from Cookie Lee...
Better shot of the bracelet. Sorry for the glare!
Oh, and the hair pin from the business card... I love that, too! It has a little rhinestone on the end of it. I have been wanting to venture from just wearing plain old bobby pins every day, and now I can! My hair does really funky stuff most days, and I need it out of my face, so bobby pins are a huge help. What an adorable way to share your business... handing out a card with a hair accessory attached! I've never seen anything like that before, so I was definitely impressed.
I'm wearing the hair pin. I know you can't see it all that well, but it's there!
I love my new jewelry from Cookie Lee, and I really want to thank Hillary for introducing me to a wonderful line of fun, affordable and very trendy jewelry. When it comes to Christmas gifts, I love to give jewelry, because I feel like you just can't go wrong with it. If you're shopping for someone who's a little picky about what they wear, I would suggest just contacting Hillary. She is so sweet, and she knows her jewelry- so give her a buzz, and she'll help you find that special gift for that special someone!
