I don't know about you ladies, but I love mineral make up. What's not to love about putting something that's all natural on your face- not to cover anything up, but to enhance your already beautiful features? I've been using mineral make up (foundation and blush) for a few years now, but until recently I'd never used a mineral eye shadow. I love eye shadow, and don't usually go a day without it. I'm sort of a neutral, earth-tones kind of gal, and sort of like to play it safe when it comes to the eyes. I do, however, like to add a pop of color every once in a while just for something different. I wanted to try something new, but didn't really no where to look other than spending a fortune on a name brand make up that I might not even like once I'd tried it on.

Enter The Chequered Lily. Seriously, I love Etsy! What can't you find on there!? When I came across The Chequered Lily, I was thrilled to see so many different shades of mineral eye shadows. Kim, owner of this lovely Etsy shop makes all of these shadows herself! These are natural eye shadows, and some of them are even vegan shadows. Something for everyone... I love that!

I wanted to review some eye shadows from The Chequered Lily, so Kim allowed me to choose seven colors to sample, and she chose an extra one for me! Please note that I did pay a very small fee for receiving these samples.. I mean, really tiny. The samples came to me in nicely sized sample bags...

As you can see, I chose mostly neutrals, and some purple shades, because that's about the only color I play around with every now and then. I am in love with these eye shadows. I have been using them sparingly every day since they arrived in my mailbox. Really- a little is all you need on your applicator brush, because these shadows go a long way. Each of them has that perfect hint of shimmery glitter, which I think is absolutely perfect for summer and winter months. Really, you could use shimmery stuff anytime- just depends on what you like. My favorite shadow of all the ones I received is Neverwhere... it's the one I keep going back to day after day. I also chose: Silk, Snow Glass Apples, Milky Way, Naive, Pulsar, Delicate, and Kim chose Terra for me to try (so glad she did, because I love that one, too!). These shadows give me as much or as little coverage as I want, and the lighter colors are perfect to use as highlighters along your brow line. Layer the colors for a stunning bold look, or use alone for a simple look... you'll look gorgeous either way!

And let me not leave this out... it wears extremely well! I put my shadow on with no primer underneath in the morning and it still looks just as good when I'm ready to remove it before bed time! Never before have I owned an eye shadow that I didn't have to re-apply at least once a day!
