Today is my son, Ethan's 16th birthday. I have a lot of emotions running through me, but mostly sad and proud. I am sad because my baby is no longer a baby. I am sad because the little things he needed me for before, he no longer needs me for. I am proud because he is smart, funny, and a good kid. He is the type of kid that would give you the shirt off his back, stand in your corner, and be the one that listens to you when you need someone. This little boy is slowly turning into a man and I want to share with the world how much he means to me. There are no words I can use to describe the love I have for him, but I will try my best. Today I want to honor him as I feel honored to be his mom.
I never knew I wanted to be a mom, but the first time I looked at his face I knew that there was no other name that would define me any better.
He is loved by so many and he gives that love back ten-fold. He loves his family and friends and is so well rounded I wonder where he came from. He has a strength and a confidence I never had, but doesn't back down from anything. He is amazingly talented and is braver than anyone I have ever known.

I want him to succeed in life and be able to spread his wings.
Just the two of us... right before he got taller than me.
There is no greater love than the love of a parent for their child. It isn't all rainbows and sunshine but I would never change a moment I have had with him. He truly is the love of my life.
I encourage all you moms with young children to enjoy the moments you have while they are young because in the blink of an eye they are grown.
No matter how old he gets I will always see him as my baby.
