Sweet Bottoms (Review & Giveaway)

Cloth diapering has been a addiction for me since I started.  I wish I had a money tree (as most of us do) just so I could buy more diapers.  If you're not familiar with “the new cloth diaper” it’s AMAZING.  They aren’t your mom’s old diaper,s that's for sure.  There are so many types; AIO, AI2, pockets, pre-folds, covers, fitted's and many more.  Sweet Bottoms sent me a package with a type I hadn’t used before the Grovia System AI2 (all in two).

The Grovia Weekender System from Sweet Bottoms is considered a “hybrid” system.  That means it can use a reusable cloth insert or a disposable insert which makes it ideal for travel or for using with family or daycare who may not want to deal with storing dirty diapers.

I was sent 2 shells, the outer part of the diaper which makes it a reusable one size cloth diaper.  That means it will generally fit a child from 8lb-35 simply by adjusting the snaps on the front of the diaper.

These are the disposable inserts for The Grovia Weekender System from Sweet Bottoms

How does GroVia work?
GroVia is designed so that the outer shells may be used for multiple diaper changes. If the soaker pad is wet, simply snap in a fresh one and you are ready to go.  If the shell is wet, allow it to air dry and use for the next diaper change.  When your GroVia Shell is soiled or very saturated, start fresh with a new GroVia Shell.

Most GroVia System users will find that using 2-4 GroVia Shells are enough per day, although newborn babies may need more.

Now personally I think that the insert looks a little bit like something I was given when I left the hospital after having Cameron, but it does the job.  The really cool thing about The Grovia Weekender System from Sweet Bottoms is that its compact.  Anyone who uses cloth knows it can be a bit bulky.  With these you simply toss a few of the inserts and a extra shell or 2 in your diaper bag and you are on your way and it takes up no space at all.  No need to even bring your wet bag (what you put your dirty cloth diapers in).

How does the one-size feature on my GroVia work?
GroVia will fit MOST babies from 8-35 lbs. The GroVia Shell features three sets of rise snaps that adjust to fit your baby. Our unique one-size Organic Soaker Pad fits from 8-35 lbs as well.

  1. Newborn/Small Infant Setting: Snap your GroVia Shell rise snaps on the lowest setting. Snap your soaker pad into the shell and simply flip the front of the soaker pad in towards baby. Fastened diaper on baby.
  2. Infant Setting: Snap your GroVia Shell rise snaps on the middle setting. Snap your soaker pad into the shell. Tuck the front of your soaker pad down, while pulling the front panel up and fasten on baby.
  3. Toddler Setting: Leave your GroVia Shell rise snaps unsnapped. Snap your soaker pad into the shell and fasten on baby.

  11. i wanted to use cloth diapers when my 1st son was almost close to being potty trained, but i thought it would be too much work. so, the 2nd time around, after a few months of the crazy newborn stage, i bit the bullet and started cloth diapering him. and i have to say, i should've started cloth diapering from the very beginning! not as hard or intimidating as it seems.

  20. I didn't want to use them because of the ick factor: dealing with washing dirty diapers! But, because we couldn't stand the thought of the environmental impact of disposables, my husband and I started with a hybrid system and used the disposable inserts. That was our gateway drug and now we use a mix of cloth and hybrid diapers.

  25. Best cloth diapering tip: Be willing to try different kinds. My hubby, 16 year old daughter (GREAT helper around here!) and I all have different types of diapers that our favorite (i.e. prefolds/covers, pockets, materials, and inserts.). Don't get too stuck on one style/brand even if they are a good deal before you try multiple kinds!

  69. If you happen to find a stain that has set in on your cloth, the best method of getting rid of that stain is to leave your diaper out in the sun to dry! You can also put a squirt of lemon juice on the stain prior to leaving the diaper out in the sun.

    That's my tip, thanks!
