Chances are, when you think of doTerra, you think of essential oils. Rightly so, since they are one of the top sellers of high quality essential oils on the market. But I had no idea that they also make hair care products! I was so excited to try these products, as I am a big fan of natural beauty products and essential oils!
Now, I know you can make your own shampoo and conditioner using essential oils - and I fully support your efforts if that is your thing... but if you want the benefits of essential oils in your shampoo and conditioner without doing the work - doTerra to the rescue!
The Protecting Shampoo is designed to protect color treated hair from UV oxidation while moisturizing locks with light moisturizers, which reduces tangles and subsequently reduces damage to hair while styling. It is infused with Wild Orange and Lime Essential Oils to help cleanse scalp and remove residues.
My experience using this shampoo was that it has a lovely citrus scent and you know how "good" shampoos say to just use a small amount? Yeah, well, I never listen to that usually because I like a good lather... but seriously, only use a small amount or you will be totally wasting this shampoo. It is super effective and powerful and a small amount lathers up great. Side note, it is magically shiny... seriously, it sparkles...
The Smoothing Conditioner contains a power house blend of beautifying essential oils including: Lavender, Peppermint, Marjoram, Cedarwood, Lavendin, Rosemary, Niaouli, and Eucalyptus. It is developed with Nanotechnology to help align hair strands and reduce static electricity. Cool!
The Smoothing Conditioner has a minty scent and is just as effective, however I will warn you that if you are used to regular conditioners, you might wonder why this doesn't feel as slimy/slippery as you are used to... it's because your hair is actually absorbing it. Makes sense right? A product that your hair actually uses instead of just sitting on top and rinsing off... As you use the conditioner, you will notice that your hair absorbs what it needs as you go. It's really neat actually. It leaves you with smooth, shiny and beautifully scented hair.

ReplyDeleteYes, I like those oils as well! I have so many favorites and it all depends on the season too! My favorite that I wear in my diffuser necklace is Balance which is a grounding blend. Smells amazing and helps to calm me down!
DeleteI use essential oils daily for different reasons. Tea tree oil for my scalp and face. Lavender for sleep insomnia.

ReplyDeleteHi, Angela! Where have you tried essential oils? The ones you find in stores are synthetics and have a fake smell since they aren't pure. I never liked the smell of even bath and body stores because of all of the smells but learned they are synthetic. I love doTERRA's for their purity and potency.
DeleteI've used them in my humidifier during the winter, and I've also made lotion-bars a couple of times. Aside from that, I haven't really used them. I do have quite a few different kinds of essential oils, and I really should start using them more often! I'd like to make a DIY sort of "aromatherapy jewelry," as well as some DIY natural/eco-friendly household cleaners.

Hi! That's a great start to using essential oils! We use them every single day! I also wear my diffuser necklace with the Balance blend every day as well to help keep me calm! We use them to clean, cook, use when seasonal threats are present, moods, and so much more!

ReplyDeleteAwesome! Yes, lemon is so versatile! Lemon in water, in diffuser to cleanse air, disinfects, and even gets sticky residue off of anything! I only recommend doTERRA's lemon to use internally though.

ReplyDeleteHi, Antoinette! You should give them a try. Just do your research before using them though. The ones in the stores are often synthetics and are mainly marketed as fragrances. I only trust and use doTERRA but you would love them once you start using them!
