Snacking Nutritious! NurturMe + Giveaway

Thank you to NurturMe for providing me with their awesome snacks for review. All opinions are 100% my own. This post may contain affiliate links.

My kids are snackaholics. But, your kids probably are too. No judgment here - I am constantly trying to figure out ways to incorporate actual nutrition into their diet. That typically means scouring the shelves at the grocery store (or online shopping pages) and reading labels trying to decide what kid snacks are not just sugar and actually have nutritional value (aka is it worth eating?).

NurturMe is a company that has my back in this endeavor. My kids and I recently got the chance to try out some of their yummy snacks. Their snacks support immune health, healthy digestion and are naturally gentle on the tummy.

All of their products are gluten, dairy, soy and egg free because these are some of the most common allergens that can upset tiny tummies. Also, all of the NurturMe ancient grains based cereals and snacks are fortified with a daily recommended dose of GanedenBC30 probiotic. "Did you know that 70% of your child's immune system is in the gut?" - I know I have heard that before, but that is a really captivating fact. With the prevalence of antibiotic use, the little tummies in our lives have been thrown out of balance and subsequently are not providing them with the basis for a thriving immune system.

So, I personally have been struggling with my son's diet since he was born 4 months ago. We have tried every formula known to man because he has had digestion problems (one or another) with everything we have tried. Now, we have also started feeding him rice cereal and he seems to have an allergy to it. Every time he eats it, he gets a red rash around his eyes and on his cheeks. NurturMe's package came at just the right time.

NurturMe sent me an Organic Quinoa Infant Cereal to try as a healthy alternative to rice cereal. Quinoa is an ancient grain that is naturally hypoallergenic. Here are some of the benefits of quinoa and some of the other ancient grains that NurturMe chooses to use in their products:
- Hypoallergenic
-Complete protein with all of the essential and non-essential amino acids
-Natural Choline to support brain development
-Lysine and other minerals to help the body absorb calcium to build strong muscles and bones.
-Omega 3, 6 & 9 for healthy eye and brain development
- Natural fiber to help with digestion
-Active antioxidants for a strong immune system.

No mother likes worrying about their child's nutrition. It is a constant source of anxiety, I think, for most of us. I love it when I find products like the ones made by NurturMe that help give us peace of mind.

Another thing that gives me peace of mind about these products is knowing that they purchase their Organic Fair-Trade Quinoa from local co-ops in South America and that they give back 1% of profits to those families through their NurturNinõs program. I personally love finding companies that are ethically responsible, who go above and beyond to help our food growers to live well in their communities.

I haven't even talked about how they taste! (Too much other good stuff to talk about I guess!) They are yummy! I ate more than my share of the Ancient Grains Cookies. They are packed with natural ingredients and you really taste the cocoa and honey in them.
The Yum-a-roo's snacks are dried fruits and veggies that are naturally sweet and yummy. The Quinoa Squares are a great chip replacement as they are crunchy and a bit more savory. We tried the Banana Broccoli and they were really good! That's about as close to broccoli that my kids get! The kids also tried the PowerBlends pouches and they loved them - they asked for more. I definitely will be getting more!

  4. Yes! My little guy loves to snack. Fortunately, he's usually happy with fruit or yogurt, so I'm not having to battle with him over junk food.

  7. O yes snacking all day long. I just think it is where they are growing. I have heard that snacking while watching TV so we limit the two so they aren't doing them simultaneously.
