Little Ones Have Fun with Learning: Rock'n Learn Board Books Review + Giveaway

Thank you to Rock'n Learn for providing me with product, free of charge, in exchange for my honest review. All thoughts and opinions shared are my own.

If I had more patience, part of me feels like I would have been a great preschool teacher. I love to teach little ones! I had such a wonderful experience teaching my own son at home before he started day school at age four. One of the many daily activities we enjoyed was (and still is) reading. Phonics played a huge part of my own learning to read when I was very small, and it's the method I used to teach Balian how to speak, and how to read by sounding words out. Having wonderful books at home also played a big part in his learning to read. Even now with Baby S being 5 months old, we read every day. I want her to have the same love of reading that the rest of her family members do.

Rock 'N Learn has been helping our family learn to read since B was a little guy. They have a fabulous collection of DVDs and Books for kids of all ages. Rock 'N Learn programs help students learn math, phonics, reading, early childhood skills, social studies, Spanish, test-taking strategies, writing, and science. Our videos incorporate music with exciting, colorful imagery.
Headquartered in Conroe, Texas, just north of Houston, Rock 'N Learn is owned and operated by its founders, Richard and Brad Caudle.

Almost all of our MBP team members have reviewed Rock 'N Learn products with their littles, and we have all loved them! Rock 'N Learn just came out with a series of board books for ages 1+, and we were excited for the opportunity to check them out!

We received the Animals (Point and Name with 44 Rhymes) and Letter Sounds Silly Sentences (Early Phonics Skills) board books from Rock 'N Learn. Baby S isn't quite ready for these books yet, though she is super interested in the bright and colorful pictures in these books. I thought that they would be perfect for my niece, M, who just turned one a few weeks ago. They'll make a fantastic Christmas gift!

The Animals Board Book is beautiful, and contains pictures of all sorts of animals.

There are also descriptions, and rhymes to go along with each animal.

The Animals book is a lot of fun. It's a great way to get kids interested in animals. S loves to look at the pictures of the animals, I know that M will, too. The pages of the book are nice and glossy, and thick- so she can chew on the book without causing any real damage to the pages. The pictures are nice and large- lots of fun for littles to touch and explore. Our favorite pages of the book tell of kangaroos and koalas!

The book can be used two ways-
As a picture book (flip through the pages and identify the animals).
As a rhyming book (Lyrical rhymes present fun facts about the animals. Rhymes promote early literacy).

The Letter Sounds Silly Sentences Book is so much fun!

The pages of the Letter Sounds Silly Sentences book are fantastic! They are so colorful and eye-catching. Little ones will love looks at the pictures, while mom and dad (or an older sibling) reads aloud. The sentences are indeed silly- but they repeat the same sounds over and over again, so little ears get used to hearing those sounds. I often repeat sounds for Baby S... of course, I want her to say 'mama' before she says 'dada.' I know it's a stretch!

For older babies & toddlers, you can ask the questions that are shown at the bottom of each page, such as: 'What sound do you hear most? Which letter makes that sound?' I wish that I'd had this book when B was learning to read. It would have been an amazing resource. Right now, S likes to look at the pictures and listen to mommy make the silly sounds. I know that she's learning, though. Repeated sounds have a soothing effect, and this is a great book to use before naptime or bedtime.

There are tons of other wonderful products available from Rock 'N Learn. These are perfect for home or the classroom!

  4. Babies are the ability to learn quickly; therefore, we parents are always taking the help of sign language and books and several activities to teach them. Through alphabetical language and colorful pictures, we are able to improve their learning skills. Color graphical picture books are very helpful in the learning process of our babies.
